SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 55-year-old man was arrested Friday after hitting a 19-year-old with his car following a drunken argument, San Diego Police say.According to police, the suspect, Fernando Chavez Lopez, 55, got into an argument with a 19-year-old man before 11 a.m. Friday. Lopez was reportedly drunk at the time of the dispute. After the argument ended, police say Lopez went looking for the victim, locating him crossing the street at an intersection on the 3100 block on National Avenue.Police say the suspect deliberately drove his vehicle into the victim, hitting him before taking off when police were called.Ten minutes later, officers found the suspect driving on the 1100 block of Sicard Street. Officials say the premiums were deducted twice directly from beneficiary’s bank accounts.“They took out both my husband’s and my payment twice,” said Jacki Montierth.Montierth teaches tech seminars for seniors at Oasis Lifelong Learning Center in La Mesa, including about how to use their smartphones and computers to access financial and medical documents.She says, she closely monitors her account, but worries other people may not be as vigilant or even know how to check their statements.“I’m sure this will hurt many people on limited income and my bank says it may take a week to refund,” said Montierth.So far, officials say about 20% of the duplicated money has already been refunded. They said they are working to return the rest of the money by Wednesday, September 25.If the money has not been returned by then, Medicare officials claim the Treasury’s Bureau of Fiscal Service will begin reversing the rest of transactions to complete the reimbursement.Those who worry they have been overcharged can call 1-800-MEDICARE to report an issue. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Three thieves, one armed with a gun, assaulted a man Monday during a pre-dawn home-invasion robbery in a Bay Terraces-area neighborhood. The victim spotted the trio of burglars inside the house in the 7100 block of Terra Cotta Road about 3:30 a.m., according to San Diego police. One of the intruders pointed a gun at the man while demanding valuables along with his cohorts, Officer Frank Cali said. During the confrontation, at least one of the robbers hit the victim with an unidentified object. After gathering property from inside the residence, the thieves fled in a stolen maroon 2011 Toyota RAV4, California license No. 6UJW830.
