GLENDALE, Wisconsin -- A woman filed a civil lawsuit against four members of the Glendale Police Department. The suit filed in federal court is demanding million. She claims the investigation into a dog attack that took place in March 2017 was not handled properly. The suit claims the woman was attacked by a 3-year-old Presa Canario and suffered injuries to her head, back and wrist that required more than 140 medical treatments, including 11 staples in her scalp, puncture wounds on her back and an injured wrist, which needed three surgeries to fix.A police report from the incident claims that her hand was "completely covered in blood and her hair appeared to be blood soaked."The woman also claimed the attack resulted in emotional trauma. The dog qas temporarily quarantined for 10 days. The woman also claims that police were not aware of procedure for dog attacks. The woman no charges were filed in the incident, and when she called repeatedly for an update in the investigation, a sergeant told her that "f you don't like the way we handle this get yourself an attorney and sue us."Both the Glendale police chief and the city's attorney declined to comment, citing pending litigation.Glendale City Attorney John Fuchs issued the following statement."She went into the dog's yard and approached the dog. Most of these processes pertain to dogs at large, not to people who enter upon the premises of another and engage the dog." 1472

FROSTPROOF, Fla. — The triple murder of three close friends is under investigation in Florida. The Polk County Sheriff's Office says around 10:06 p.m. on Friday, one victim, 27-year-old Rollins, called his dad for help. Officials say his dad knew Brandon had gone fishing with two of his friends, 30-year-old Keven Springfield and 23-year-old Damion Tillman, who were also victims. All were from Frostproof.Brandon's dad drove to the unincorporated area of Frostproof and when he arrived, he found his son barely alive, officials say. The other two friends were found dead.Brandon's dad drove to a close-by gas station to call 911.When first responders arrived, all three victims were found dead. Officials said they appeared to have been beaten and shot."This is a horrific scene. I've been to a lot of murder scenes in my life and this ranks among the worst I've been to," said Sheriff Grady Judd.According to families, the three men were best friends and knew each other for years. They said the three men were fishing on land, not in a boat."We are seeking leads. We need help so we can solve this crime sooner rather than later because there are one or more, we suspected more, murderers, that killed three people in a quiet community," said Sheriff Judd. The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help on any information on the incident. If anyone has any information, contact PCSO at 863-298-6200.This story was originally published by Lisette Lopez at WFTS. 1477

Google has marked Mexico's Day of the Dead, an ancient festival celebrating and honoring departed loved ones, with a doodle featuring brightly painted model skulls. The skulls, hand-made from clay, appear between animated flickering candles with orange marigold petals scattered around them. The doodle represents the ofrendas, or altars, set up by families for the carnival. The shrines typically feature photographs and treasured mementos of late relatives and friends, plus their favorite foods and drinks.A type of sweet roll known as dead bread and sugar skulls are also often included, along with orange candles and incense. Homes are decorated with sprays of marigolds as part of the tradition.Revelers in colorful costumes with skulls painted on their faces parade through the centers of towns, and a host of celebrations and parties take place. Offerings are placed in graveyards and at the sides of roads. 921

Hosted by LEAD San Diego, JONES, and brought to you by 10NewsCOVID-19 has forced us to pause and reexamine how our economy, organizations, and systems will function and serve us best for the future. As businesses and schools look at strategies for reopening, a core element of those plans should be inclusion. GRANDBY, Colo. — Imagine trying to outrun an inferno and three trees fall on the only road out. That's what Mike Darrah had to contend with Wednesday. The Trail Creek Estates homeowner said he received a pre-evacuation order Thursday, Oct. 15, so he and his wife drove up from Boulder County to pack a few things and put them in storage. He said he went back up Saturday to help neighbors with their horses and other belongings and stayed through Wednesday when it "started getting smoky."Soon, he could see flames moving through the entire valley. He will likely never forget the sound."It was like a freight train," he said, "the proverbial freight train, with the wind blowing."Darrah said he saw "swirling sparks" across the street, the entire area on fire."When I say on fire, it was from the ground all the way up to 90-foot pine trees. It was that fast," he said.Darrah told Denver7 he grabbed a few items from his house and started to drive out, only to be stopped by three Aspen trees which had blown over, blocking his way out.He got out the chain saw he said he keeps for such an occasion."I'm pulling and pulling trying to prime it. It would just sputter but it wouldn't get going," he said.Just as he was about the leave his truck and trailer behind and hoof it out of the neighborhood, a forest service employee drove up from the other side."He hopped out, and between the two of us, we were able to muscle those aspens, not off the road, but just enough to the side that I could get around them."Darrah said he doesn't know whether his house survived."We think we've lost it," he said.He told KMGH he has seen pictures of his neighbor's homes, several of which have burned to the ground, but he hasn't seen a photo of his house. He said the pictures were from a friend of a friend who knew a firefighter. He said it's stressful not knowing whether the house is still there, but he feels fortunate that he received advance notice of the fire."We got our family heirlooms and photos," he said.He said he's anxious to get back in to see his neighborhood for himself but understands the priority right now is fighting the fire and making sure everything is safe.He said he's also looking forward to the snow."It may put out some fire, but not enough to let people in," he said. This story was first reported by Lance Hernandez at KMGH in Denver, Colorado. 2371
