(WPLG/CNN) - A Broward County, Florida, man's Ring surveillance camera captured someone relieving himself on his driveway during the day."I know when it comes for you to go, you have to go," said victim Wilton Thomas.Thomas is trying to understand the situation but is frustrated after seeing the surveillance video of some dude dropping a deuce on his driveway."He could have drove himself right toward the left in the fence, toward the coconut tree and do what he wants to do there. That would be no problem, but in my driveway?" Thomas asks.Thomas says it was around 4 p.m. Saturday while he was at work that a green car pulled up."(The driver) just opened his door and pulled his shirt all of the way over and then stooped down and that was it," said Thomas. Then, just as quickly as he arrived, the party pooper drives off, leaving his shirt and his stool behind.Thomas says when he got home it was too late to take care of it right away, so he waited until Sunday morning to take on the turd."I went in the hot sun, scraped it up, put it into a bag, and I poured bleach and then I hosed and washed the whole thing off," said Thomas. Now, he says he's ready to put this smelly situation behind him. He just wants an apology from the person responsible."Knock and say, ‘Man, you know what I had an emergency, I had nowhere to go, and this is where I had to do what I had to do,’" said Thomas. 1406

A Green Beret who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan died Saturday during combat operations in Afghanistan, according to US Army special operations spokesman Lt. Col. Loren Bymer.Sgt. Maj. James G. "Ryan" Sartor, 40, was from Teague, Texas, and was assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group. He died during combat in northern Afghanistan's Faryab province, which borders Turkmenistan."We're incredibly saddened to learn of Sgt. Maj. James 'Ryan' Sartor's passing in Afghanistan. Ryan was a beloved warrior who epitomized the quiet professional," said Col. Brian R. Rauen, the commander of 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). "He led his soldiers from the front and his presence will be terribly missed."The US invaded Afghanistan in October 2001 and has had a significant military presence there since, stretching over three presidencies. More than 2,000 US military personnel have died in what is the longest war in American history.Sartor's death comes just weeks after two US soldiers were killed by small arms fire in Afghanistan's Uruzgan province."I think this drives home the need for us to be successful with the missions that we have undertaken in Afghanistan as a reconciliation to reduce the level of violence, to reduce the level of risk to Afghans broadly, and the risk to American service members," Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said at the time.Overall, the US has about 14,000 troops in Afghanistan, where they primarily advise Afghan forces who are battling the Taliban.Sartor joined the Army in June 2001 and deployed to Iraq as an infantryman in 2002. He completed the Special Forces Qualification Course to become a Green Beret in 2005 and deployed to Iraq with the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010, the US Army said. He also deployed to Afghanistan with the same group in 2017 and 2019.Sartor's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and more. His posthumous awards include the Purple Heart Medal and Bronze Star Medal, the Army said. 2127
A judge has ruled that the cases against all three defendants charged with murder in the death of Ahmaud Arbery can advance to the trial court. During a probable cause hearing Thursday, Magistrate Court Judge Wallace Harrell found that there is enough evidence for the cases against Greg and Travis McMichael and William “Roddie” Bryan to proceed.According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Arbery was in the Satilla Shores neighborhood in Brunswick, Georgia, when both Gregory and Travis McMichael confronted Arbery with two firearms on February 23. During the encounter, Travis McMichael shot and killed Arbery, prosecutors said.Bryan filmed the encounter, but it took nearly 10 weeks for the video to be made public. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said that an investigation was launched into Arbery's death as video spread online.Arbery’s death prompted a social media hashtag #JusticeForAhmaud. Arbery’s death prompted discussions nationally on the role racial bias plays in the criminal justice system. 1032
A Georgia homeowner shot and killed three masked teens as they approached his residence with their faces covered, authorities said. The three teens, one 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds, were all from the area but did not live in the specific neighborhood they were in, the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office said. The teens approached three residents at the front yard of a home early Monday morning and attempted to rob them, authorities say. One of the would-be robbers took out a gun and fired shots at them, before one of the residents returned fire."The victims of the attempted robbery were all uninjured, but the three attempted robbery suspects were all shot during the exchange of gunfire and succumbed to their injuries, one on scene and two at a local hospital after being transported," the sheriff's department said in a press release. One neighbor told CNN affiliate 887
