The Lee County Sheriff's Office says a Minnesota fugitive wanted for the murder of her husband is also responsible for a murder in Fort Myers Beach, Florida this week.Lee County Undersheriff Carmine Marceno said in a press conference Friday that they believe that Lois Reiss has since fled Southwest Florida to the Corpus Christi, Texas area.A national manhunt is under way for Reiss, who is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.Marceno says Reiss befriended 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson and targeted her due to their similar appearance. Investigators say Reiss murdered Hutchinson in her?condo Monday, then took her ID and car and fled Southwest Florida in Hutchinson's white 2005 Acura TL with a Florida license plate Y37-TAA.Reiss is believed to have traveled through the Gulf coast to Corpus Cristi, Texas, but her current whereabouts are unknown.Reiss is wanted for Murder and Grand Theft.According to KLXT-TV in Rochester, Minnesota, Reiss is facing second degree murder charges there after shooting her husband to death back in March.According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Reiss’ car was found abandoned in Florida earlier this week and she remains at large.Law enforcement also believe she stole over ,000 from her deceased husband's business. 1347

The Mormon church is parting ways with the Boy Scouts of America after more than a century.In a joint statement Tuesday night, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Boy Scouts of America announced their decision to end their relationship next year after 105 years.The Boy Scouts serves about 330,000 Mormon youths, and the Mormon church is one of its largest sponsors."We have jointly determined that, effective on December 31, 2019, the church will conclude its relationship as a chartered organization with all Scouting programs around the world," the statement said.The Mormon church said it made the decision because it's expanded outside the United States, and wants to explore new youth programs that serve its international members.It will continue to work fully with the organization and support its goals and values until the end of next year. 878

The moderator from Tuesday’s presidential debate says there was an “honor system” for both campaigns when it came to completing COVID-19 tests for their staff ahead of the event.Fox News host Chris Wallace was speaking with his colleague Bill Hemmer Friday afternoon. They were discussing reports from earlier in the day that Trump’s family did not wear masks while seated during the debate in Cleveland.Wallace confirmed the report and said the Trump family were offered masks by the Cleveland Clinic staff and “rejected them.”He also said when President Donald Trump came into the hall Tuesday afternoon to look at the stage set-up, “members of the commission (on presidential debates) were not especially happy with the fact that the presidential party was not wearing a mask” during the walk-through.The statement released from the Cleveland Clinic Friday morning in regard to these developments stated, “Most importantly, everyone permitted inside the debate hall tested negative for COVID-19 prior to entry. Individuals traveling with both candidates, including the candidates themselves, had been tested and tested negative by their respective campaigns.”Wallace confirmed this, and said there would not have been enough time to have people from the campaigns tested on-site in Cleveland and receive results back before the debate needed to start.“They didn’t arrive until Tuesday afternoon, so for them to get tested, there wouldn’t have been enough time to have the test and have the debate later that night at 9 o’clock,” Wallace told Hemmer. “So yeah, there was an honor system when it came to the people who came into the hall from the two campaigns.”Wallace said people who were on the ground for multiple days in Cleveland, like himself and Hemmer who covered the debate for Fox News, were tested by the Cleveland Clinic. The percentage of Americans who say they would probably or definitely get a COVID-19 vaccine when one becomes available has sharply decreased in just the last few months.A survey done in mid-September by the Pew Research Center found only 51 percent of respondents would definitely or probably get the vaccine when one became available. A similar survey done in May found 72 percent of participants would definitely or probably get the vaccine. The 21 point drop was all in the “definitely would get the vaccine” category, according to the data.According to the data, a large drop in the number of American who would get the vaccine was seen in both Republican leaning respondents and Democratic leaning.Republican participants went from 65 percent would get the vaccine in May to 44 percent in September. Participants who identified as Democratic went from 79 percent would get the vaccine in May to 58 percent in September.Large drops were seen across gender, race and ethnicity as well.“About three-quarters of Americans (77%) say it is at least somewhat likely that a vaccine for COVID-19 will be approved and used in the U.S. before it’s fully known whether it is safe and effective, including 36% who say this is very likely to happen,” Pew Research Center wrote of their findings.Of the 49 percent who would not get a vaccine, the majority of them are worried about potential side effects.Side effects are also a concern for those who would get the vaccine. Of the 51 percent who said they would probably or definitely get the vaccine, more than half said that if many people were experiencing minor side effects they would reconsider getting the vaccine.The data came from more than 10,000 Americans surveyed between September 8-13. 1748

The leaders of North and South Korea will meet on April 27 for the first time since 2007, the two countries announced Thursday after high-level talks.The landmark meeting between President Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un will be held at Freedom House on the southern side of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), according to the joint statement issued after the talks.Officials from both sides will hold working-level talks on April 4 to prepare for the meeting and agree on security and media arrangements, it added.The summit will be seen as a victory for Moon, who has long been pushing hard for diplomatic relations with North Korea.
