The woman drove her Chevy SUV east in the westbound lanes of the road, hitting a man in a Jeep Liberty.Officers told 10News the mother, who is in her 30s, had her 8-year-old child in the backseat with her 2-year-old child in a car seat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police released Monday the name of a man who was shot and killed in Paradise Hills.911 dispatchers got a call about a shooting in the 2400 block of Calle Gaviota Friday about 10:30 p.m., police said.Officers went to the location and found Dustin Bridwell, 37, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police saved a driver whose SUV got stuck in the path of an oncoming train in Little Italy Tuesday morning.The vehicle was stuck on the track at 1:30 a.m. near West Grape Street and California Street, approximately 100 yards south of the railroad crossing.Police were on the scene and helped the driver out of the SUV, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies who assisted in the investigation.A southbound Amtrak train was traveling 35 miles an hour when the train operator saw the vehicle on the track.The operator applied the emergency brake but was unable to stop in time, and collided with the vehicle.The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Neither the driver nor any passenger on the train was hurt. 771

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Sky10 was there as police and firefighters responded to a car crash in San Carlos Friday evening. The crash, which happened just after 5:30 p.m., happened in the 6200 block of Del Paso Avenue, not far from Patrick Henry High School. The female driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake when approaching the garage door, police said. She hit the washer and dryer, pushing them through the wall and into the house. The driver and occupants of the home were not injured in the crash. Firefighters helped pull down the garage door and advised the family to have a structural expert check the walls where the washer and dryer pushed through.   700

The first was the pilot blowing out the plane’s canopy and ejecting. The second sound was the crash.“One was popping, then a massive explosion that shook the whole house,” Cosford remembers.Cosford and her husband ran outside to see a “large column of smoke”.Teresa Rizzo not only heard it: she felt it. Someone yelled at her to stay back and told her a plane had crashed."I just thought, 'That was an airplane?’ That was an actual airplane that fell out of the sky and exploded around the corner from my house?"Marine pilot Dan Neubauer’s parachute landed a block west of the crash site after he ejected. He had been trying to reach MCAS Miramar on one engine, but his second engine failed.
