SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A runaway boat became lodged on rocks after taking off while the owner was trying to dock the vessel Monday afternoon.Captain Tony Olson with TowBoatUS San Diego said a man sailing from Harbor Island was trying to dock at Shelter Island when the boat took off.According to Olson, the man was trying to tie the boat off with the sail partially up and the motor running, causing it to take off without him.The 35-foot vessel became lodged on rocks at the Naval Base.It took a while for the boat to become dislodged. Olson says there doesn’t appear to be any major damage to the vessel.Olson noted that this is one of several boats that ran aground Monday.A 19-foot vessel, pictured below, also smashed into rocks at the foot of Point Loma. The Coast Guard warned people traveling through marine channel 16 of the boat that ran aground.  872

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A pregnant San Diego County woman found a shocking discovery in her baby’s ultrasound picture: what appears to be a photo of her late father kissing her unborn daughter. Shantel Carrillo, who’s five and a half months pregnant with her second child, had the medical exam Monday at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. She didn’t expect the photograph to go viral. “I didn’t see it; I just posted the original picture online,” said Carrillo. Friends quickly pointed out the ultrasound image resembled a picture of Carrillo’s father Charles, who died in 2016, holding Carrillo’s oldest daughter Myree. Carrillo showed the photo to her stepmother who “broke down, freaking out crying.” For Carrillo, the idea her late father would show love to her child fits his character. “My dad was obsessed with my daughter,” said Carrillo. She added her father was always loud but “he would melt” when he was around Myree. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego man claimed four off-duty San Diego Police officers beat up him outside of a local bar.“I have a laceration on the back of my head, three staples, a lot of bruises a lot of cuts on the face,” said Jonathan Felix.Standing in his attorney’s office, Jonathan Felix described a November night he’ll never forget."All I remember is waking up in my own pool of blood a few times,” Felix told 10News.Felix said that after working a shift at a restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter, he stopped by a Mission Valley bar for a drink.He said he lives nearby and uses its parking lot because parking in the area is scarce.According to Felix, before he headed home for the night, he saw four men standing near his car. He said he didn’t know them, but wanted to make sure the valuables he had in his vehicle were safe.He said after a few interactions with the guys, they didn't leave and appeared to be intoxicated.He claimed the men never identified themselves as San Diego Police officers."I felt threatened for my life,” Felix said.Felix's attorney said at some point, Jonathan Felix pulled a gun and held it at his side. The officers surrounded him, and the situation escalated.The San Diego Police department saw it differently, calling the off-duty officers victims of assault with a deadly weapon. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was hospitalized Saturday night after being stabbed several times during a confrontation in Mission Beach, police said.The incident happened around 8 p.m. in the 900 block of West Mission Bay, said Ofc. Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.Heims said a 26-year-old man approached and exchanged words with a 50-year-old man. The younger man then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times."The victim fell to the ground and the suspect fled the scene," Heims said. "The victim was transported to the hospital where his injuries were determined (to be) non-life threatening."The suspect was caught a short time later and arrested. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego boxer who missed out on the 2016 Olympic games has her eyes set on 2020.Danyelle Wolf missed out on the 2016 Olympic games because her weight class wasn't included. The omission forced her to seek out a new challenge: MMA.For the next three years, Wolf trained for her MMA debut. That day would never come either."I dislocated my shoulder, so I totally dislocated my arm, tore my labrum," Wolf said. The International Olympic Committee voted to add Wolf's weight class to the 2020 games as she rehabed her shoulder injury.So just like that, it was back to the training room, but in this case time was a factor."Thank goodness, because it I would've fought professionally in MMA I would not have been able to try out for the Olympic games," Wolf said.
