BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- China will push forward a lifelong professional skills training system as part of the efforts to improve the competence of the workforce and boost high-quality development, a State Council executive meeting presided over by Premier Li Keqiang decided on Wednesday.
China aims to build it as a low-carbon, intelligent, livable and globally influential city where people and nature exist in harmony.
Xi praised the achievements in developing the economy, deepening reform, advancing law-based governance, improving people's lives and fighting poverty, as well as the progress in national defense and building the armed forces, diplomacy on all fronts, and full and strict governance over the CPC. Xi said this progress has "propelled the vessel of China toward new waters."
Guo Yongjun with China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations said the "Taiwan Travel Act" interfered in China's internal affairs and violated the one China policy which the United States has long been upholding.
She noted that it is important that the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, namely China, United States, Russia, Britain and France, should continue their efforts and continue to take responsibility to maintain global strategic stability, to safeguard non-proliferation regime, and to continue the nuclear disarmament.
