Senate Republicans are drafting a stopgap spending bill to extend the funding deadline for approximately 25 percent of the federal government until February 8, according to three sources.The decision to move forward on the short-term plan hasn't been finalized, the sources said. Subtropical Storm Andrea formed in the Atlantic basin Monday afternoon, marking the first named tropical system of the 2019 hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center announced. As of 6:30 p.m. ET, Andrea had top winds of 40 MPH and was located 335 miles southwest of Bermuda. The National Hurricane Center said that an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter plane confirmed winds near 40 MPH. The forecast calls for Andrea to possibly strengthen overnight before weakening as it drifts toward Bermuda. It is not currently a threat to the United States coast. 573

Rashida Tlaib said Friday she would not visit Israel after the country granted permission for her to enter the country on humanitarian grounds to visit her family in the West Bank a day after blocking her and fellow Rep. Ilhan Omar from visiting the country."I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in--fighting against racism, oppression & injustice," Tlaib said in a tweet.
