Bob and Shirley Hansen were on a fishing trip when they woke up at 3 a.m. Monday to the sound of someone beating on the side of their boat.Bob looked over the side and saw five people in their underwear, he told CNN affiliate KEYT-TV. Then he saw another boat in the distance, fully engulfed in flames."Flames probably 30 feet high. It was totally gone," he said. The first thing he did was call the Coast Guard, he said.The 75-foot commercial diving boat, called the Conception, caught fire Labor Day off the coast of Santa Cruz Island in Southern California.The Hansens were able to rescue the five crew members who made their way to their boat. Eight people have been found dead so far, and 26 are missing.Shirley said some of the rescued crew members told them about the moments on the boat before the fire. One said that a 17-year-old girl on the Conception was celebrating her birthday with her parents, she said."It was such a hopeless, helpless feeling to watch that boat burn and know there were only five people at our boat and there was nothing we could do," she said.She also said the five people didn't have any form of communication on them -- no keys or phones -- and she hopes they get plenty of help.Bob told KEYT he doesn't feel he deserves to be called a hero."I was just a guy there in that place. Apple is recalling 814,000 wall adapters because they can break and pose an electric shock risk.The recall involves three-prong AC wall adapters included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit. The kits contain three-prong and two-prong AC wall plug adapters that fit different electrical outlets worldwide.The recalled adapters were made for use primarily in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong and were also sold with Mac computers and iOS devices. They were sold online and in electronic stores nationwide from January 2003 through January 2015.The recalled three-prong AC wall plug adapters are white with no letters on the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. Redesigned adapters are white with gray on the inside portion that attaches to the power adapter.Consumers with the adapters should immediately stop using them and contact Apple for a free replacement.Apple has gotten six reports from other countries of wall plug adapters breaking and consumers being shocked. California authorities launched a manhunt early Wednesday for a man suspected of killing a police officer during a traffic stop.Officer Ronil Singh, 33, pulled over the suspect just before 1 a.m. in a mostly residential part of Newman, a city of 11,000 located about 70 miles east of San Jose."A few moments later he called out 'shots fired' over the radio," according to a news release from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department, which is leading the investigation. Barbara Thomas went hiking with her husband in California's Mojave Desert on Friday and has been missing since, police said.Thomas, 69, and her husband were separated during the hike, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department."Barbara was last seen wearing a black bikini, a red baseball cap and tan hiking boots with black socks," the department said.
