(KGTV and AP) -- A Coronado parachutist jumped out of a plane over Normandy Wednesday, just as soldiers did 75 years ago, according to the Associated Press. The parachutists were honoring the airborne soldiers who jumped into gunfire ahead of the June 6 1944 seaborne invasion. 97-year-old D-Day veteran Tom Rice was among the paratroopers who leapt out of planes that day. According to the Associated Press, Rice jumped in tandem Wednesday into roughly the same area he landed on D-Day. “It went perfect, perfect jump,” Rice said following the jump. “I feel great. I’d go up and do it again.”On D-Day, Rice jumped with the 101st Airborne Division, landing safely despite catching himself on the exit and a bullet hitting his parachute. Rice flew down Wednesday with the stars and stripes flag beneath him, landing with loud applause. Other parachutists jumped with World War II souvenirs, some of which were worn by their grandfathers into battle. Rice said following the jump that he feels he represents a whole generation. The kennel uses the same technology found in vehicles and headphones in order to protect dogs' sensitive ears from fireworks that could cause them to panic.Here's how it works: Microphones inside the kennel detect the sound of a firework and then omit an opposing frequency to cancel out the noise or reduce it almost entirely. The walls of the kennel are designed using high-density cork in order to add another degree of silence.The result is a futuristic-looking kennel that keeps canines content amid the "booms" and "crackles" of fireworks:The prototype was inspired by some of the cabin technology Ford employs in its own vehicle designs.“We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could be applied to help in other situations. Could dogs enjoy quieter New Year’s Eve celebrations through the application of our Active Noise Control system? (KGTV) — Disney is delaying plans to reopen Disneyland and California Adventure in July, saying state guidelines will not be issued soon enough to prepare its parks to welcome back guests.Earlier this month, Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure Park were slated to reopen on July 17 after being shuttered since March. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel plan were to reopen on July 23. The company now says guidelines from the state are not expected "until sometime after July 4.""Given the time required for us to bring thousands of cast members back to work and restart our business, we have no choice but to delay the reopening of our theme parks and resort hotels until we receive approval from government officials," a company statement read.Downtown Disney is still scheduled to reopen in Anaheim on July 9 with health and safety precautions in place, according to the company. Disney said Downtown Disney's reopening had been previously approved under California's restaurant and retail guidelines for reopening."Once we have a clearer understanding of when guidelines will be released, we expect to be able to communicate a reopening date," the statement said in regards to the parks.Disney added that is has signed agreements from 20 union affiliates representing cast members to return employees to work at the theme parks.The company's plans to reopen California parks mirror that of its parks that have reopened in Florida and China. Disney said the parks will plan to limit attendance using a reservation system in order to prevent overcrowd and encourage distancing between guests. Park experiences like parades, nighttime shows, and character meet-and-greets would also be temporarily suspended. Characters will still roam around the park, Disney said."Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, the Disneyland Resort will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance," the park said on its official blog. "Once approved, the Disneyland Resort will reopen with enhanced health and safety measures. (CNN) -- German police suspect a landscape gardener is responsible for killing one man and injuring two other people from beyond the grave.Bernhard Graumann, 59, was found dead from unknown causes at his home in Mehlingen in western Germany on Friday.Earlier that day, a 64-year-old doctor was killed by an explosion that appeared to come from a booby trap laid outside his practice in Enkenbach-Alsenborn, local police said in a statement.The doctor, who has not yet been named, is thought to have triggered the explosive when he bent down to pick it up, police said.Two days later, a mother and daughter were injured when a log that appeared to have been tampered with exploded in a wood-burning stove in Otterberg, less than six miles away. The younger woman, who has not been named, remains in hospital -- her condition is not thought to be critical.Western Palatinate Police have linked both cases to Graumann, who is said to have had a "bad relationship" with the victims, having been involved in disputes with them in the past. The gardener's death is currently under investigation, pending the results of an autopsy.When officers searched Graumann's home they discovered gunpowder and "other items subject to the weapons law and the Explosives Act," police statements said.Police also took the unusual step of warning other members of the public who may previously have fallen out with Graumann -- whether in a personal or business capacity -- to be on their guard."The police cannot rule out that prior to his death, the deceased had made preparations that could endanger other people's life and limbs," a statement said.
