(KGTV) - A Lakeside woman who spent ,000 to have solar panels installed on her home is angry about an 8 electric bill from San Diego Gas and Electric.Michaela Wright told 10News her power bill is three times higher than it was at this time last year.“How could I possibly get a bill this high when I bought solar panels,” questioned Wright.Wright called the high bill “price gouging” and said it was "out of hand" with a 26 percent rate hike coming in the next three years. She’s been writing letters to lawmakers and calling the governor to demand action.To make a difference, Wright also wants her East County neighbors to talk part in a walk-out. She would like to see residents leave their homes and stop using power between 4 and 9 p.m., twice a month.“Hit them in the pocketbooks because money talks and when you start losing money they start paying attention. I just feel we have to do something,” Wright said.SDG&E spokesperson Wes Jones wouldn’t comment on the walk-out or talk specifically about Wright’s bill. LA POSTA RESERVATION, Calif. (KGTV) - A local Native American tribe is considering its legal options after one of their sacred sites was vandalized. At least 5 rocks in an area used by the La Posta Band of Mission Indians’ ancestors were spray painted over the weekend.“A lot people don’t understand they’re on the reservation here,” said Victor Estrada, Vice Chairmen of the La Posta Band of Mission Indians. La Posta Reservation is about 50 miles east of San Diego and was blanketed by snow last week prompting visitors to make the trek out to the high elevation to see it. “You can come out here and play in our snow, but don’t destroy our stuff,” said Estrada, “don’t spray paint your name and your family and say 'hey you were here.' We understand you were here, we know you were here.” Estrada says they found out who may have vandalized it through social media and that the tribe may prosecute, but would be open to the offenders cleaning it up themselves. Those claiming responsibility wrote a statement to 10News saying in part: “We are truly sorry as we were not aware that we were on sacred or tribal lands. LEXINGTON, Ky. -- A teenager died Sunday after being shot at a mall in Lexington, Kentucky. The Fayette County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 17-year-old Kenneth Wayne Bottoms Jr., of Lexington. Bottoms was transported UK Medical Center at about 4 p.m where he was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m.Two other victims were also injured in the shooting, which police say happened in front of a Bath and Body Works at Fayette Mall. Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said at least one of the victims and a suspect knew each other. They may have had an interaction prior to the shooting.Officers are currently interviewing witnesses. No suspects are in custody at this point.Scripps station WLEX interviewed one Lexington shopper who was inside Bath and Body Works. She says she witnessed an argument outside of the shop that escalated when someone pulled out a gun."Held it up at face level... and he shot four shots off," said the shopper.The shopper, who wished to remain anonymous, says she was escorted with others toward the back of the store."We stayed in the bathroom until police got us out of the service door to Bath and Body Works, and they walked us around all of the blood to take us outside," said the shopper.Mark Thomas was inside his shop, Bourbon Creek, when he saw a group of people run by with sheer panic on their faces. His store was packed at the time, so the retired Lexington police detective quickly jumped into action."We had several customers that were wanting to leave, and we have a back door into the parking lot, so we were able to help evacuate people through the store. LA MESA, Calif. (CNS) - Four teenagers who allegedly assaulted a cab driver outside a La Mesa restaurant early Wednesday and stole his taxi while threatening him with a gun were arrested a short time later after abandoning the vehicle in a remote industrial area about six miles away, police reported.The group of youths called for a cab shortly before 1 a.m. at Denny's in the 6900 block of Alvarado Road in La Mesa, just east of San Diego State University, according to police.After boarding the Blue Star Cab vehicle, the quartet began quarreling over the fare, Lt. Greg Runge said. Two of them then punched the driver, prompting him to jump out of the taxi, the lieutenant said.At that point, one of the teens got behind the wheel of the cab, pointed a handgun at the victim and drove off, Runge said.Using signals from a GPS-tracking device in the stolen cab, police tracked the vehicle down it in the 10700 block of US Elevator Road in Spring Valley about 20 minutes later. The taxi was unoccupied, but a gun had been left behind inside, the lieutenant said.Officers searched the area with help from a sheriff's helicopter, soon capturing the suspects within a block of the abandoned taxi. The victim and a witness positively identified the group as the alleged perpetrators in a curbside lineup.Arrested were Jaden Razell Jones of Spring Valley and Kaitlyn Arianna Gendleman of El Cajon, both 19; 18-year-old Jacob Ronald Jensen of El Cajon; and a 17-year-old boy. (KGTV) - Scientists are using an autonomous underwater vehicle to help get purified wastewater to your faucets.  The remote-controlled sub operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography helps measure how the purified water mixes with the Lake Jennings reservoir water.It’s one of the state-required steps water officials need to take before purified wastewater from the Padre Dam Water District’s Advanced Water Purification System is introduced to homes through Helix Water District’s Lake Jennings and water treatment facility.“There’s that factor that it’s coming from a waste facility originally.  So, what happens if there’s some sort of failure that didn’t get caught? Well, now there’s a buffer. There’s a buffer. It will sit in the reservoir,” said Helix’s Director of Water Quality Brian Olney.If all goes as planned, Padre Dam will need to expand its Advanced Water Purification System and build a pipeline to deliver that water to Lake Jennings.  Olney said that could happen by 2023. 1045
