BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (KGTV) - A helicopter made a hard landing in the Anza-Borrego desert about three miles east of Borrego Springs in East San Diego County Monday, deputies said.Four people were on board the Robinson R-44 helicopter when it went down about 1:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.Three people were treated at the scene, according to The Borrego Sun. Deputies said they had minor injuries.The helicopter is registered to Big Blue Corp of Las Vegas. 10News is working to confirm that it may have been operated by Big Blue Air, a tour company based in Palm Springs. A company representative had no immediate comment on the landing.Borrego Springs Airport officials said the male pilot was on the way to the Rams Hill Country Club in Borrego Springs.The helicopter landed in rough terrain near Inspiration Wash, officials said. BOULDER, Colo – The City of Boulder was hit by a scam artist who allegedly hacked the email system at the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, convincing the city to transfer more than ,000 into a fraudulent bank account.According to a press release from the City of Boulder, it was a "successful email and financial fraud scam."City officials stated the incident happened early last month, with the scammer gaining unauthorized access to the email system of Boulder Shelter for the Homeless by impersonating shelter staff. They said the scammer sent email requests to the city to change the bank account information used by the shelter to receive city human services funding.According to the city, it processed the change and later transferred ,333.33 to the fraudulent account as part of its routine payment to the shelter.The city contacted its bank to attempt to reverse the payment and opened a police investigation.“In 2017, the City of Boulder enhanced its financial procedures to help make financial transactions more secure,” the city wrote in a statement. “In this situation, financial procedures to verify the authenticity of the request to change bank information were not followed. The Finance Department is conducting an internal investigation related to the fraudulent activity and the failure to comply with city procedures. While the city will not comment on specific personnel matters, it will take appropriate disciplinary action up to and including termination of staff.”  Greg Harms, the executive director of the shelter, spoke with the Boulder Daily Camera about the situation. BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — The FBI is investigating after a piece of rope resembling a noose was found in a Black firefighter's locker in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington. An FBI spokesman confirmed Saturday the bureau is investigating and said that the case is in its initial stages. Bloomington officials had asked the FBI to investigate. Officials say that the rope was tied into what appears to be a crude noose and was discovered at a Bloomington fire station on June 15. The discovery was reported to Fire Department leaders eight days later, on Tuesday. The fire chief says such acts that “embody hate, intimidation, and aggression will not be tolerated.” Mayor Tim Busse says he's “disgusted, angry, and embarrassed by this cowardly act.” 758

Belgian authorities are investigating the killing of three people in the eastern city of Liege on Tuesday as a terror attack, the country's prosecutor said.The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m. ET) when an assailant stabbed two policemen from behind before stealing their service weapons and using them on the officers, Liege Prosecutor Philippe Dulieu said at a news conference on Tuesday.After killing the two police officers, the attacker continued walking through the street and opened fire on a parked vehicle, fatally wounding the driver inside, Dulieu added.According to the prosecutor, the suspect then took refuge in a local high school where he held a woman hostage. When police intervened, the man opened fire, injuring several other officers, before he was shot dead.It is not yet clear what the attacker's motive may have been, a spokesperson from the Liege prosecutor's office told CNN earlier. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said he and the government send their thoughts to the victims and their families.The Belgian Royal Palace also tweeted its sympathies following the shooting.
