SPRING VALLEY (KGTV) -- An hours-long SWAT standoff came to an end Thursday evening in Spring Valley. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began around 1:30 on the 10700 block of Jamacha Boulevard. Deputies tried to serve the man with a warrant when he barricaded himself inside his home. The man was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m., the department says. Several nearby mobile homes were evacuated during the standoff. It's unclear at this time what the suspect was wanted for. 522

Sixteen Idaho residents have been indicted on charges stemming from two federal investigations –- one, involving the large-scale manufacturing and sale of counterfeit cell phones, and the other, a cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine ring, according to a Thursday morning announcement by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.On Wednesday, federal agents and municipal police raided 12 homes, one warehouse, one business and a church in relation to the counterfeit phone investigation.At a press conference in Boise, U.S. Attorney Bart Davis said the fake phones involved the multi-million-dollar counterfeit scheme were manufactured in Hong Kong, then repackaged and distributed from the Boise area. Starbucks announced in a press release Tuesday that it will close 8,000 company-owned stores in the United States on May 29 in order to provide its staff with mandatory racial-bias education.The stores will be closed during afternoon hours that day. At that time, employees will be required to attend a training session that will address "implicit bias, promote conscious inclusion, prevent discrimination and ensure everyone inside a Starbucks store feels safe and welcome."The press release states that the program will be developed with "national and local experts on confronting racial bias," along with NAACP officials and former Attorney General Eric Holder.The announcement comes just days after two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks. The police were called because the men chose not to order anything.
