(AP) — Two boys were fatally shot while sitting in a van outside an elementary school early Saturday morning, police said.The shootings of the boys, ages 11 and 14, took place in the parking lot of Searles Elementary School, the East Bay Times reported.Callers to 911 reported hearing gunfire at 1:26 a.m., the newspaper said. Authorities said that when officers arrived, they found the boys.The older boy died at the scene, and the younger child died en route to a trauma center, the Times reported.New Haven Unified School District Superintendent John Thompson said in a statement that the victims were minors.The boys attended schools in the district, Thompson and a district spokesman said.No arrests have been made in connection with the killings.Police Lt. Steve Mendez said there was no sign of a connection between the shooting and the school where it took place. TUCSON, Arizona — Ballot counting continues across Arizona Friday in a Senate race separated by only a few thousand votes, and less than one percent.With hundreds of thousands of ballots left to be counted, it may be days before Arizonans know whether Republican Martha McSally or Democrat Kyrsten Sinema won the race to replace Jeff Flake in the upper chamber of Congress.But there's one not-unlikely scenario in which Arizonans may be represented by both Congresswomen in the Senate.After John McCain's passing in August, the responsibility fell to Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey to appoint an interim replacement for the beloved senator in Washington. Ducey made a safe choice in former Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, who retired from office in 2013. Kyl, however, only committed to serve in the role until early January, after which Ducey will once again have to choose a replacement until Arizonans make their choice to fill the seat in a 2020 special election.So who are the potential candidates? There was speculation over the summer that Ducey might appoint his own chief of staff to the role or even Cindy McCain -- the Arizona senator's widow. But should Sinema eek out a win after ballot counting is completed, McSally will be out of a job, having vacated her seat in Congress to campaign.If Ducey decides to appoint McSally, that could leave both candidates serving in the Senate until at least 2020. Universal Orlando has updated its face mask policy after reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic.When the Florida theme park reopened on June 3, the resort said guests could remove their masks while eating and drinking.But this week, the park updated its mask policy saying guests must be "actively eating or drinking" and socially distance themselves before removing their masks."Guests must wear face coverings at all times, unless they are actively eating or drinking, and they must also be socially distanced from other travel parties while consuming their food or beverage," the policy states. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey says "we're ready to question everything" about the social networking site that has been overrun by spam, abuse and misinformation.Dorsey says he and his team are working extensively behind the scenes to stamp out some of the harassment and hate speech that has generated bad headlines lately.But it is a long-term effort, he says, and he is reluctant to commit to an exact timetable for certain changes to Twitter's foundation.In twelve years, "we've changed a lot. But we haven't changed the underlying fundamentals," Dorsey told CNN in an in-depth interview at the company's headquarters on Friday.The basic fundamentals are what he is examining now. For instance: What does Twitter incentivize its users to do?"Every product decision we make is 'telling' them to do something," Dorsey said.So he is thinking about how to help users follow topics and hashtags, not just people."We are aware of some of the silos and how we're isolating people by only giving them crude tools to follow accounts.
