A Florida man was arrested after police say he left his 19-month-old daughter outside overnight during Hurricane Irma.Angelo Mitchell, 36, of Jasper, Florida, faces a charge of child cruelty related to the Sunday incident.According to Tallahassee's WCTV, the girl's mother called police Monday morning, telling them Mitchell had taken their daughter away the night before and when she saw him again on Monday, the girl wasn't with him.Police searched the area for the girl but were unable to find her. Mitchell allegedly denied ever taking her, telling officers she was probably with a family friend, according to WCTV.At about 11:30 a.m. local time on Monday, someone found the girl in the yard of a house about 500 yards away.Police said the girl's skin had turned purple after she'd spent the entire night outside during the storm being battered by wind and rain. The girl also had scratches and bug bites on her body, according to WCTV. A longtime Fox News analyst sharply criticized the network on Tuesday, denouncing the outlet as a "propaganda machine" devoted to President Trump, and saying that it was "wittingly harming our system of government for profit," in a stunning internal email announcing his exit from the company.Ralph Peters, a US Army lieutenant colonel who served as a military analyst for Fox News, said he felt "compelled to explain" his departure from the company to colleagues, before skewering the network he has called home for years. Peters had been telling friends that he planned on leaving the network in a "nuclear" fashion, one of those friends told CNN."Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to 'support and defend the Constitution,' and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform," Peters wrote in the letter sent to a handful of colleagues. "Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers. Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed."In the letter, which was first reported on by BuzzFeed and confirmed by CNN, Peters said that he believed Fox News "degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices" to morphing into a "mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration."Peters cited the Fox News opinion hosts' relentless attacks on the FBI, Justice Department, intelligence agencies, and other branches of government. He said he believed Fox News was knowingly causing harm to the country in exchange for profit.Peters said his criticism did not apply to Fox Business, the sister channel of Fox News, and said he deeply respected "the hard-news reporters at Fox," calling them "some of the best men and women in the business."Fox News responded to Peters' email in a statement Tuesday evening. "Ralph Peters is entitled to his opinion despite the fact that he's choosing to use it as a weapon in order to gain attention," the network said. "We are extremely proud of our top-rated primetime hosts and all of our opinion programing."Peters told CNN in an email, "Fox can assail me all it wants, but I intend to do what I believe is ethically correct."As of late, Fox News has faced mounting criticism from the company's own employees. A convent in Livonia, Michigan, is mourning the loss of 13 nuns to the coronavirus. The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice, or Felician Sisters, lost 12 nuns to the virus between April 10 (Good Friday) and May 12, according to the Global Sisters Report publication.A 13th nun succumbed to the illness in June. Additionally, 18 sisters at the convent contracted the deadly novel coronavirus."We couldn't contain the grief and the sorrow and the emotional impact," Sr. Noel Marie Gabriel, director of clinical health services for the Felician Sisters of North America, told a reporter with Global Sisters Report. "We went through the motions of doing what we had to do, but that month was like a whole different way of life. That was our most tragic time. A man is being charged with assault after fighting with an IHOP manager last week after the manager asked the party to leave a IHOP in Memphis, WREG-TV reported. According to WREG, the IHOP manager asked Malachi O'Kelley's party of five to leave for being loud. A video of the incident shows most of the party leaving when O'Kelley allegedly attacked the manager. One of the members of the party threw a chair at the manager during the scuffle. Other members of the party also threw plates at IHOP employee. The manager responded by throwing a chair at one of the members of the party.WREG reported the manager received multiple stitches to the back of his head, above the eye and near the eyebrow. No other people have been charged in connection to last week's incident. The manager is reportedly back to work, and is looking at increasing security at the restaurant.  Note: Viewers may find video of incident disturbing 984

A brawl broke out during a sentencing Wednesday afternoon of a former daycare owner accused of reckless homicide in the death of a 7-week-old baby in her care.37-year-old Claudette Mitchell was being sentenced for charges related to the death of a 2-month-old child that died while in Mitchell's care last August at "WHO'S LUVIN YOU" daycare. Mitchell ran the daycare out of her home on Milwaukee's northside. A criminal complaint says Mitchell told police she put the baby down for a nap and when she checked on her about an hour later she was unresponsive and had scratches and blood on her face. Court documents show the baby suffered multiple fractures to her skull and bruising all over her body. Forensic investigators believe the baby died of blunt force trauma to the head.  Mitchell received a sentence of 42 months, and upon release, 48 months of supervision. Following the sentencing, an altercation broke out between 50 members of Mitchell's and the victim's families and friends according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.Additional deputies and district attorney investigators were called to the room to restore order. Authorities say additional security had been in place prior to the altercation but Mitchell's loved ones did not comply with deputies’ orders to remain in the courtroom while the victim’s family was being escorted out. 1407
