Montgomery County, Maryland Police reported Laura Wallen, a pregnant high school teacher who went missing last week, has been found dead. According to Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger, Wallen's body was found in a wooded area in Damascus, Maryland. Police have arrested her boyfriend, Tyler Tessier.Tessier was present with Wallen's family during a press conference on Monday. Police had already identified him as a person of interest in the case. Detectives asked the family to invite him to speak as part of the investigation. During the press conference, Tessier pleaded for Wallen to come home."There's so many people, so people that miss you," he said Monday. "There's so many people that were out looking. We haven't slept, we haven't eaten. We're just looking and praying that you're safe and I'm asking that you can just let us know that you're safe."Police have not determined a motive in the case, though during Wednesday's update, police said Tessier was living at several addresses, including one in Damascus.  1079

NASHVILLE, Mich. - A family with a passion with aviation decided to take their hobby on the road.Gino Lucci of Nashville, Mich. is a pilot, mechanic, and federal inspector of aviation. His passion prompted an idea when he was a kid."I always wanted to do one, since I was 12-years-old, and I just wanted to make an airplane out of a motor home," said Lucci. "The truck won't fly, but the airplane drives."Lucci named the RV The Fabulous Flamingo.To make his plans a reality, Lucci's son Giacinto tracked down a plane in Missouri. It had been deemed inoperable due to a tornado that rolled through the area. The plane was built in 1943 and used in South America by the Navy during the World War II era."It took us about four to six weeks to really sit down and say, 'Alright, I’ll sell it to you," Giacinto recalled.The family gutted the airplane but tried to keep as much of the original interior as possible. Some of the parts they removed were sent to France to restore a similar plane for a D-Day memorial.The RV is classified as a Class A motor home and is up to safety standards. Also, a slated day-night doubleheader in Detroit was also wiped. The Cincinnati Reds were slated to get underway at 3:45 p.m. local time, more than 2.5 hours after the scheduled first pitch. Of the MLB cities affected by this weekend's storm, Minneapolis was hit the hardest. MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – More than 150 officers with the Minneapolis Police Department have started the process of filing physical and mental disability claims, with a majority saying they’re suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).The law firm representing many of the officers, Meuser, Yackley, and Rowland, made the announcement Friday, saying the events following the death of George Floyd have “pushed many officers to their breaking point.” Those events include the burning of the department’s third precinct.The law firm’s founder, Ron Meuser, Jr., wrote in a statement that many of the officers he represents were at the third precinct the day and night it was abandoned during the protests over Floyd’s death.“Officers were taking such extreme steps as writing final notes and texts to loved ones – fearful they wouldn’t make it home, and some saying they felt they needed to reserve their last bullet rather than being beaten to death,” wrote Meuser.The attorney says he’s seeing PTSD symptoms of officers with highly diminished capacity to live and socialize, extraordinary rates of divorce, and alcohol dependency to cope with their trauma.“It is an emotional crisis that cannot and should not continue,” wrote Meuser.The law firm says the number of officers claiming to have suffered PTSD over the past six weeks accounts for about 18% of the department’s 850-person force.“The men and women in public safety who give their heart and soul to serve Minneapolis and keep it safe deserve to have Minneapolis leaders to step up and supporting them,” wrote Meuser. “Instead of spending time plotting the dismantling of the force, let’s come together to improve community trust and work towards a safer city for all.”The city’s police department is facing intense scrutiny after now-former officer Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd’s neck for several minutes until the man lost consciousness and later died.Chauvin and three other officers involved have been fired and persistent protests across the country led prosecutors to swiftly charge them.
