CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police are searching for the suspects accused of stabbing a 15-year-old to death as he tried to defend his friend at a Chula Vista birthday party in late January. According to police, the stabbing took place on January 31 on the 900 block of Maria Way in Chula Vista. Police say an argument broke out between two teenagers. The argument later turned physical and, as the 15-year-old -- identified by friends as Devin Griffiths -- tried to help a friend being attacked by several men, he was stabbed in the upper body, according to police. According to police, he “passed away with his family at his side.”Police say the suspect group is believed to consist of eight to 15 men and women between the ages of 17 and 20. Investigators believe there is a likelihood witnesses used their cell phones to record the incident and are asking anyone with video to come forward. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - A former San Diego psychiatrist who reportedly had offices in Chula Vista, San Ysidro, Kearny Mesa and El Cajon pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of having sexual contact with seven female patients during office visits and a misdemeanor count of sexual battery for groping an eighth woman.Leon Fajerman, 75, will be ordered to serve 365 days in custody and be required to register as a sex offender at a sentencing hearing Jan. 18.Judge Francis Devaney will consider alternatives to actual jail time, according to Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Matzger, City News Service reported.REPORT: San Diego County psychiatrist charged with sexual battery, having sex with patientFajerman -- who has been a licensed physician in California since 1978 -- voluntarily surrendered his medical license in May, state records show.In September 2017, court records showed that Fajerman assaulted three female patients, including one who said he groped her breasts and buttocks, according to the Union-Tribune.The complaints were turned in to the Medical Board of California. Fajerman surrendered his medical license May 15, 2018.Fajerman received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires and had been in practice for more than 20 years, according to US News. 1309

(KGTV) - Southwestern College in Chula Vista was briefly put on lockdown Tuesday after a student reported hearing shots fired at the campus library.The student contacted officers about hearing two gunshots on the third floor of the library just before 1 p.m. at the college on 900 Otay Lakes Rd.Chula Vista Police responded to campus and evacuated the building, according to Southwestern officials. The campus was also placed on lockdown.After a thorough search of the library, police determined there was no threat in the building and nothing suspicious was found.The lockdown was lifted about 1:45 p.m. and all operations resumed as normal.Chula Vista Police said a construction project at the library may have been confused with gunfire.Watch Sky10 above campus: 793
