VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Deputies arrested a man they say kidnapped his girlfriend’s 8-year-old son early Wednesday morning.According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the alleged kidnapping happened on the 300 block of Hillside Terrace at 2:15 a.m.Authorities say Guillermo Cruz, 32, was intoxicated when he drove to his girlfriend’s house, jumped a balcony fence, and abducted the woman’s sleeping 8-year-old son. Deputies say Cruz is not the child’s father.After calling 911, deputies spotted the vehicle Cruz was driving and pulled him over before making the arrest. The young boy was unharmed.Deputies say they noticed Cruz had an empty vodka bottle in the car with him. He was arrested on multiple charges, including child abduction, kidnapping, child endangerment, driving under the influence and burglary. 832

(KGTV) - For the third time in recent months, a local Boy Scout troop is coping with a heartbreaking theft.As they were getting ready to leave on a camping trip Friday, Boy Scout Troop 722 in Vista realized their camping trailer was gone.Without a trailer, future trips are now in jeopardy.The trailer was parked in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church parking lot when someone broke the padlock and stole the trailer. Because the troop has dealt with vandalism in the past, all their gear is kept in a shipping container. The trailer has a unique bolt on its door, which was put in to prevent people from breaking in.Replacing the trailer will cost the troop ,000.Community members can donate on a Go Fund Me page set up for the troop. If you spot the trailer, contact the Vista Sheriff's Department.In September, a Chula Vista Troop's trailer was stolen, as well as one earlier this month one in University City. The former vice president, a graduate of the University of Delaware, did not say he attended Delaware State University but was making a broader point about his long-standing ties to the Black community.Trump is referring to remarks Biden often says on the campaign, typically when speaking to Black audiences, that he “goes way back with HBCUs,” or historically Black universities and colleges. Biden has spoken many times over the years at Delaware State, a public HBCU in his home state, and the school says that’s where he first announced his bid for the Senate – his political start.“I got started out of an HBCU, Delaware State — now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State,” Biden told a town hall in Florence, South Carolina, in October 2019. “They’re my folks.”Biden often touts his deep political ties to the Black community, occasionally saying he “grew up politically” or “got started politically” in the Black church.
