CINCINNATI — A student at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, was hit "with a paddle with spikes and grooves," forced to drink large amounts of alcohol and smoke marijuana in a hazing incident involving a now-suspended fraternity, according to a report released Monday. The report details a hazing incident that occurred March 16 at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house, the report said. The student who filed the report said he and other pledges were told they could not leave a mandatory meeting in the fraternity house, even when they requested to leave. COLORADO — Riders on rentable scooters getting them from Point A to Point B around cities in America may not be thinking about something big: The germs.When our reporters talked to folks riding on them, they guessed the handles could be pretty germ-ridden.Our reporters looked at public bikes, too, and did some swab tests, which were taken to a lab. The goal was to find out what bacteria may be found on the scooters.The team tested for stapholococous, E. coli, general bacteria levels, yeast and mold.The results were surprising.“My initial action was surprise,” said Microbiologist Helene Ver Ecke, of Metro State University. And they're trying a new tactic to bring people into the store: selling CBD products. “It’s been crazy,” said Erin Gardner, the store manager of the Family Video in Waterford Township, Michigan.Gardner says the owner of Family Video, Keith Hoogland, tried CBD balm to help with his tennis elbow. It worked so well for him, he wanted to share the benefits of CBD products with Family Video customers.
