SINGAPORE, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The huge market of China can be both a blessing and a curse for local information technology firms, said Lee Kai-Fu, founder of Innovation Works and former president of Google China.
The forum was first held in Seattle on April 19 and 20 last year.
Officials attending the meeting agreed on speeding up development in more specific sectors oriented toward boosting the industrial upgrade and agricultural modernization. These sectors include finance, transport, telecommunications, technological support, project consultation, human resources and environmental protection, according to the statement.
At the last summit in Cannes, specific measures were agreed upon under the Cannes Action Plan for Growth and Jobs in order to ensure global economic growth. The leaders made progress in reforming the international monetary system, and the euro-zone crisis was also a key topic of discussion.
The current forum is taking place before the 5th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
