The suspected vehicle was located and pulled over.Southwest High was placed on lockdown as a precaution and police said the campus wasn't being threatened - the traffic stop just happened to occur outside the school property.Police found a BB gun inside the vehicle. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A tortoise no longer on the loose is still waiting for its rightful owner in East County.The tortoise, believed to be an older male, was found Thursday by Heartland Paramedics.It was roaming the streets of El Cajon and is now staying at the El Cajon Animal Shelter.Workers there say this is not a situation they often face.“Not in the City of El Cajon," said Shelter Manager Jill Jones. "Perhaps in outer-lying counties, they have a little more tortoise traffic, but we generally do not."A family who saw the original 10News story believed the tortoise was their beloved pet Frankie who went missing a week ago. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A stretch of Harbor Drive near San Diego International Airport was shut down after a deadly crash Wednesday morning.The single-vehicle crash was reported just after 11 a.m. on northbound Harbor Drive, about a mile from the airport’s Terminal 1.ABC 10News learned a blue car traveling at a high rate of speed on the southbound side struck an object, lost control and then crossed the median onto the northbound lanes before coming to rest.The driver was declared dead at the scene.Due to the wreck, authorities were forced to close off at least one lane on northbound Harbor Drive, creating a lengthy backup for motorists heading towards the airport. 676

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego resident is one of three patients across California infected with salmonella linked to an herbal supplement.The 44-year-old resident is the latest patient in the multi-state outbreak, according to the San Diego County Health and Human Service Agency.The supplement, kratom, is used as a stimulant and opioid substitute. It's also known as thang, kakuam, thom, ketom, biak, and Mitragyna speciosa, according to county health officials.RELATED: 28 sick in salmonella outbreak linked to kratom, CDC saysThe San Diego patient fell ill in January but has since recovered. They were not hospitalized, officials said.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified at least 40 cases of salmonellosis in 27 states. Fourteen patients have been hospitalized.
