SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Amid the Red Flag conditions, some warnings of possible power shutoffs caught some by surprise in Torrey Highlands.Terrie Rollins has lived at her home on Caminito Vistana for nearly 20 years. On Wednesday night, for the first time ever, she received an email from SDG&E warning of a possible shutoff."Confusion, worry. Wondering how I'm going to get everything done," said Rollins.Rollins's husband suffers asthma and requires an air purifier in the home. Rollins herself lives with a lung condition and needs to plug in a nebulizer for half an hour every day to clear her lungs."Didn't sleep much last night wondering what's going to happen," said Rollins.Rollins says a hotel is costly and is concerned no hotel will accept her two dogs and parrot. Amid mounting wildfire costs and liability for utilities across the state, SDG&E - armed with high-tech tools - continue to become more proactive with wildfire prevention. That has translating into more widespread shutoff warnings. Rollins fears the shutoff warnings could be her 'new normal.’"Every time there are high winds, do I have to get a hotel? It's stressful," said Rollins. 1171

In her new memoir, "Becoming," former first lady Michelle Obama writes a passage explaining how her predecessor, Laura Bush, had extended her help to Obama when she was an incoming first lady, telling her that if Obama needed help, she was "a phone call away."In turn, Obama writes she did the same for Melania Trump when it was her turn to occupy the role. Trump, however, has yet to take Obama up on the offer. On Sunday, Obama was asked about the incident by ABC News' Robin Roberts, "Has (Trump) reached out asked?""No," said Obama. "No, she hasn't."On Monday afternoon, Stephanie Grisham, Trump's communications director, said in a statement to CNN that the first lady was not in need of Obama's assistance."Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way," Grisham wrote via email. "When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House."Obama and Trump have seen each other in person three times since the election of Donald Trump as president. In November 2016, Obama invited Trump to have tea in the White House as a traditional welcoming gesture to the incoming first lady. The two women crossed paths again on Inauguration Day, notably when Trump brought a Tiffany & Co. present to the White House as a gift for the Obamas upon their departure. Obama would later joke about that moment on Ellen DeGeneres's talk show."I mean, this is like a state visit, so they tell you that you're going to do this, they're going to stand here. Never before do you get this gift, so I'm sort of like OK. ... What am I supposed to do with this gift?" Obama said.In April of this year, the Obama and Trump were briefly together again; both attended the memorial service in Houston, Texas, for former first lady Barbara Bush. Last year, former first lady Laura Bush told CNN in an interview that she had spoken to Trump since she became first lady, and that she had "been back and had tea with her." 2023

"Saturday Night Live" comedian Pete Davidson mocked the appearance of a congressional candidate whose eye was destroyed while he served in Afghanistan."This guy is kinda cool, Dan Crenshaw," Davidson said on this weekend's show, next to a photo of Crenshaw, a Republican. "You may be surprised to hear he's a congressional candidate from Texas, and not a hit man in a porno movie."I'm sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever," he added. "Whatever."The comment came during an "SNL" segment in which Davidson gave his "First Impressions" of the appearances of several candidates. After mocking Crenshaw, he took aim at Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, "so I look fair," he said. 692

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Amid the coronavirus outbreak, an expectant mother says her angst is growing as she nears her due date."Health wise, everything is good. Just a lot of stress right now," said Ruth Guttierez, 27.She and her husband are expecting their first child. The excitement the Encanto woman expected to be feeling has been nudged away by a sense of dread at the thought of delivering at a hospital.RELATED: California recruiting retired doctors, med students for expected COVID-19 surge"So many people there who are sick and who might have coronavirus ... That's so scary. You expect when you go to hospital it's going to be safe. You expect that it's going to be best place to give birth. At this point, is it really?" said Guttierez. While the data isn't there when it comes to the impact of coronavirus on pregnant women, they are considered an at-risk group and likely more vulnerable to respiratory infections, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."I don't want to get sick, and I don't want my baby to get sick," said Guttierez.RELATED: Dental specialists remain open to keep dental emergencies out of ERAnother stressor: new restrictions at her hospital limiting her to one other person in the delivery room. She must choose between her husband and her doula, whom she hired to provide support and advocate for her. She plans to choose her husband, but she's worried. "Just going to be difficult to go through that time without the additional support I thought I was going to have," said Guttierez.Instead of going to the hospital, Guttierez is now hoping for a home birth, but she can't afford the ,000 fee for a midwife. Both she and her husband are no longer working because of the pandemic. Her HMO health insurance won't cover the home birth.RELATED: Ways you can help as states scramble for ventilators, other supplies"I just wish the insurers would cover it. There is a Change.org petition pushing it," said Guttierez. She started a Gofundme campaign to raise money for a midwife, but if it doesn't workout, she'll be heading to her hospital. Like every other expectant mother these days, she'll be carrying extra concerns. She has three cousins who are also expecting. "A lot of women are feeling the pressures right now," said Guttierez. 2293
