"Florida has now laid that down. We're going to be able to do that, and we're laying out those opportunities."Kent agreed."This will definitely change a lot of lives, especially the ones that are coming in," said Kent. Florida prosecutors have charged a Miami police officer they say tried to kick a suspect who was being handcuffed on the ground, in an encounter captured on video.Mario Figueroa, a two-year veteran of the force, was charged Tuesday with assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, after the cell phone video of the incident surfaced last week."Officer Mario Figueroa can have no excuse for the alleged actions seen on the initial videotape," State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said in a new release. Former US Senate candidate Roy Moore has filed a countersuit against Leigh Corfman, one of the women who accused him of making unwanted sexual advances.Moore is asking an Alabama state judge to stop all proceedings in Corfman's defamation lawsuit, calling the lawsuit "frivolous and groundless," according to the countersuit filed late Monday in Circuit Court in Montgomery County, Alabama. She was onboard a ship last spring when cruise lines were ordered back home. Ever since then, she's been ready to get back out on the high seas.“They need to sail, they need to get them going. You’re safer on the ship then you are to the grocery store.
