SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -  A popular Thai restaurant in the College Area has been broken into for the second time in three weeks.At Sala Thai, there are sizzling entrees and simmering frustrations. "Saw the mess on the floor and thought what's going on?" said owner Chira Svangvitaya.A look at the surveillance video gave Svangvitaya the answer. Just before 5:30 Monday morning, a man in a hoodie is seen creeping into through the back door. He heads right to the cash register but finds it empty.He grabs some paperwork, empties the change dish and moments later, he leaves. It isn't for long. "He walked in and out three times, like he's not afraid of anything," said Svangvitaya.Two more trips nets him armfuls of stuff, including a computer, iPad, iPod, checkbooks and a case of soda. Near the end, he takes off his hood - and Svangvitaya's heart sank."I feel so sad and annoying. I don't know what I did to him," said Svangvitaya.The intruder is a stranger to her, but appears to be the same man who broke into the restaurant early Halloween morning. On that occasion, he used a crowbar to mangle the lock and damaged the register while grabbing 0 in cash. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - With one of the largest holidays of the year just a day away, getting around and conducting business before and on the holiday can be tricky to navigate with what is closed and open.The North County Transit District will have a normal service schedule for Christmas Eve. However, the Amtrak R2R partnership with NCTD -- which allows Coaster customers to travel on Amtrak trains in the San Diego area -- will be blacked out through Monday. During this time, all Amtrak Pacific Surfliner customers will be required to show a valid Amtrak fare and no COASTER passes will be accepted.NCTD schedules will be reduced to a Sunday service schedule on Christmas.The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System will run a similar schedule, with normal weekday hours Christmas Eve on all Trolley lines and MTS local, urban, Express, Rapid and Rapid Express bus routes.Christmas is more complicated. All Trolley lines except the Silver Line will operate on a half-hour frequency on Christmas Day. Rapid, urban, and local bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedule.No service will be provided on Rapid Express routes 280 or 290, Rapid routes 204, 237 and Express routes 50, 60, 110, 150, Sorrento Valley Coaster Connection and most express bus routes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV and CNS) - The first rain storms of the season moved into the region Tuesday, bringing significant rainfall throughout San Diego County along with the possibility of snow in the mountains. A low pressure system to the south will make its way north and meet a colder, low pressure system that is making its way down the coast, National Weather Service meteorologist Miguel Miller said. These conditions are expected to produce rain continuing through Thursday night, with the heaviest rainfall expected on Wednesday, Miller said. An urban and small stream flood advisory was also issued through 3:15 p.m. for areas of San Diego County, including Chula Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Temecula, El Cajon, Vista, Encinitas, National City, La Mesa, and Poway.Rainfall amounts through Thursday night are expected to be around 2 inches in the mountains, between 1 and 1.5 inches in the inland valleys, around 1 inch near the coast and less than a quarter-inch in the deserts, according to the NWS. Snow levels will drop to 6,000 feet by Wednesday evening, with several inches of snow expected by late Thursday, Miller said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A couple who evacuated from the Woolsey Fire in Los Angeles says their Airbnb hosts kicked them out of their unit and cleaned out all their belongings, forcing them to live with relatives in San Diego.Ben and Jessica Wells said they rented out the Airbnb unit in July, paying in advance through May.The newlywed couple had been living there as they searched for a home to buy.It was a studio apartment located in West Hills, a community on the western edge of the San Fernando Valley, which backed up to where the Woolsey Fire was burning.“I could see the fire burning on the hill. I saw the smoke,” said Ben, who got an evacuation alert on his phone while at the gym.He went home to meet his wife, frantically packing up some important belongings.“We were not trying to check out of the place at all. Obviously things were a mess, clothes were everywhere. We were just trying to basically make sure we had everything we needed just in case everything burnt,” said Jessica.After they left, the Airbnb hosts contacted them to see if they could go inside the unit and turn off the lights. Ben said he agreed to let them in for that purpose.But once inside, owners Larry and Jeri Hannah said they were shocked by what they saw.“I don’t even know how they were living there,” said Larry. “We couldn’t believe the mess we saw.”In addition to the clothes scattered about, the Hannah’s say the grout on the tile floor in the bathroom had been stained black. They said the walls needed painting and some of the flooring needed to be replaced.“When It became obvious that we weren’t going to let them come back then we just decided we were going to clean it up because we didn’t want to leave it like that,” said Larry.In order to do that, they removed all of the Wells’ belongings and told them the rest of their reservation had been canceled.The Wells’ said they agreed to pay through the end of November if they could keep their stuff there. But when Ben arrived on November 17th he said he was surprised to see their belongings strewn across the property.Expensive recording equipment had been left outside, he said. Other belongings had been thrown in trash bags. Some appeared to be missing.“At that point I was in shock, just completely shaken,” said Ben.He grabbed what he could find, not knowing that more of their belongings had been stored in a shed on the property.“Their stuff is all still here,” said Larry.In a statement, a spokesperson with Airbnb wrote ““We are urgently investigating this incident to better understand what happened. There have been more than 400 million guest arrivals in Airbnb listings to date and negative incidents are extremely rare.”  2699
