The Bakersfield Police Department booked an Inglewood man Sunday night for murder and sexual assault charges in the case of a missing 13-year-old girl from Bakersfield.Further investigation led police to detain 24-year-old Armando Cruz of Inglewood, California for his involvement in the disappearance of Patricia Alatorre, who went missing July 1 at 11:30 p.m.The 13-year-old girl went missing in the area of Hosking Ave. and Wible Road, and according to police, Cruz is the owner of a white, older model pick-up last seen leaving the area at the same time and location Alatorre was last seen.BPD Detectives located and seized the vehicle and detained Cruz for further questioning in his involvement in Alatorre's disappearance.Cruz, was then arrested, just hours after being detained.Cruz faces 18 felonies and one misdemeanor. TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The first federal execution in 17 years is on hold after a U.S. judge ordered a new delay in federal executions.Daniel Lewis Lee, of Yukon, Oklahoma, was scheduled to be executed at 4 p.m. Monday at the Federal Correctional Institution in Terre Haute, Indiana.A U.S. district judge ordered a new delay in federal executions on Monday morning. Lee's execution had previously been been suspended late Friday following a decision by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.The Trump administration immediately appealed, asking a higher court to allow the executions to move forward, according to The Associated Press.Lee is one of four people who are scheduled to be executed at the federal penitentiary in Terre Haute. TAMPA, Fla. -- A commercial about child hunger inspired Kennedy McCormick to take action when she just 7 years old.“I felt really bad for the children, so I wanted to do something to help,” said McCormick, now 14.For her birthday that year, she wanted to collect food instead of getting presents.“So we had a party and that’s exactly what happened. Everybody brought food,” said her father, Kelvin.Kennedy has carried on that tradition every year, teaming up with Feeding Tampa Bay to make sure the donations get to those in need.“The more I’ve done it. The more donations I’ve gotten over the years,” said Kennedy.This year with the pandemic, she held a virtual fundraiser, raising about ,000.All her hard work got noticed by General Mills and they surprised her with a donation like she’s never seen before: two truckloads of Cheerios. That’s 48,000 boxes.“I was extra surprised when I saw the truck drive by because I thought it was only going to be the cereal over there and then there was a truck. Daniels was being represented in that deal by Rodriguez and Daniels' then-attorney Keith Davidson, according to the same source.As CNN previously reported, that deal fell through when Cohen failed to pay the money.
