SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Live Nation and the city of El Cajon Tuesday announced a Sept. 13 opening date for the recently renovated East County Performing Arts Center, which has been renamed The Magnolia. The 1,200-seat theater will open with "Countess Luann and Friends,'' a cabaret show starring Luann de Lesseps of "Real Housewives of New York City'' fame.Live Nation, which will operate, book and market The Magnolia, also confirmed future performances by Pat Benatar, Dream Theater, Patti Labelle and Art Garfunkel, among others, with dates booked through March 2020."This is a special moment for not only El Cajon but the entire San Diego region,'' said El Cajon City Manager Graham Mitchell. "The completely renovated Magnolia represents another jewel in the continued growth of the entire region.''The city of El Cajon shuttered the performing arts center in 2009 amid the recession in an effort to cut budget expenditures. Since then, Live Nation has renovated the theater's interior, adding a VIP lounge, new bars and added legroom between rows."The Magnolia will offer an amazing elevated entertainment opportunity for both artists and music fans,'' said Ben Weeden, chief operating officer of Live Nation's clubs and theaters division. "In addition to a spectacular outdoor Plaza Bazaar featuring unique pre-and post-show dining, the theater will offer new state-of-the-art sound, lighting and projection systems. We're thrilled to join the El Cajon team.''To buy tickets for upcoming shows and see the full lineup, go to magnoliasandiego.com. 1554

The girls were hospitalized in stable condition, according to a GoFundMe page created to raise money for their medical bills.Brians, 47, is being held without bail pending his Monday afternoon arraignment via video conference at the San Diego Central Courthouse.About 4:30 a.m. June 13, the toddlers' mother called 911 to report that Brians had taken their children without permission and allegedly contacted her via "numerous calls and texts ... clearly stating she may not see (them) again," according to the GoFundMe.com page created Sunday.RELATED COVERAGE:Fundraiser to help toddlers involved in Sunset Cliffs crashOfficer rescues toddlers after father drives off Sunset CliffsPolice: Man drives off Sunset Cliffs with twin daughters in truckHe allegedly threatened to drive the vehicle off the Coronado Bay Bridge, but was later spotted by officers on Hill Street near Cornish Drive and sped off, careening over the side of a cliff and landing upside down in the water, according to police.Moments later, a canine officer also responding to the emergency, 22- year SDPD veteran Jonathan Wiese, arrived in the area. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An emaciated dog found Friday in Bandy Canyon remains in critical condition but has shown some signs of improvement, the San Diego Humane Society's animal care staff reported today.A county resident brought the 2-year old male pit bull mix to the Humane Society's Escondido campus after finding him extremely dehydrated and cold, with pressure sores on his hips and knees. Humane Society veterinarians are working to feed and re-hydrate the dog slowly so as not to damage his body in its current fragile state.According to the organization, it could take between seven and 10 days for the dog to turn a corner and begin to recover. Humane Society staff are hopeful that will happen."When I found him he was extremely lethargic and weak,'' said Humane Society Law Enforcement Sgt. Lauren Monreal. "He's since received fluids, some electrolytes and ... even despite his horrible condition, he wags his tail.''The organization's Law Enforcement unit opened a felony cruelty investigation on Friday into the dog's abandonment and who may be responsible. Residents can offer information leading to the responsible party's arrest by calling Humane Society Law Enforcement at (619) 299-7012.San Diego Crime Stoppers is also offering a ,000 for information leading to the person's arrest. Residents can call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477 or visit the organization's website, sdcrimestoppers.org. 1441
