Matt Dixon was grilling in his backyard when he heard squawking on the neighboring hillside. “One of the chicken flies into the fence,” said Dixon describing the video he took. “That’s when the coyote popped out of the clearing it there and made its way up and he eventually found what he was after.” Dixon posted the 28-second video online and found that people were quicker to forgive the coyote. “I got a lot of flak for not trying to help save the neighbor’s chicken and I can understand that,” said Dixon, “but it all happened so fast.” Other neighbors say they are more cautious with their children and pets outside knowing there can be coyotes in an urban area. 805

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One man has died after a hit-and-run outside Sharp Memorial Hospital in Kearny Mesa, after he had reportedly been discharged from the hospital.San Diego Police said a 61-year-old man was in the southbound land in the 3000 block of Health Center Dr. when they were hit by an unknown vehicle just after 5:30 p.m. The vehicle fled the scene after hitting the man, SDPD said.The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.Police told ABC 10News at the scene that the man had reportedly just been discharged from the hospital before he was hit by the vehicle.SDPD Traffic Division was investigating the collision. The victim's name was not immediately released.Health Center Dr. and Frost St. were closed following the hit-and-run for investigators. 773

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More San Diego college students will be moving back to campus this weekend, as San Diego State grapples with trying to reduce its cases more than three weeks after its fall semester began.When SDSU started moving students back onto campus at the end of August, COVID-19 testing wasn't mandatory. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Over the last year, thousands of San Diegans received incorrect water bills, but as the city recently discovered, thousands of customers received no bills at all.Officials said at a news conference Thursday afternoon that as many as 2,500 customers may have been affected over the last three to six months. In a press release sent to 10News Thursday, the city blamed a backlog of work orders and additional training for staff on a gap between meters and the public utilities department billing system.RELATED: Audit shows City sent thousands of faulty water bills?The city says meters were still collecting usage data, but the information wasn't being generated into a bill.Earlier this year, Mayor Kevin Faulconer asked the department to re-read every meter in the city. After the project was complete, workers found 10,000 meters broken, damaged or in need of replacement. The city is working to notify customers of the amounts they may owe and says that no water service will be affected. The city also promised that payment plans will be made available for customers.The issue comes on the heels of another problem with the department.
