(KGTV) — A new challenger is approaching the video game market, and it's aiming to become the Netflix of video games.Google Tuesday introduced a new video game streaming service called Stadia. The platform promises to deliver gamers instant access to games on TV, mobile devices, or desktop computers in resolutions up to 4K and 60 frames per second."When players use Stadia, they'll be able to access their games at all times, and on virtually any screen," the company said in a release. "And developers will have access to nearly unlimited resources to create the games they’ve always dreamed of."RELATED: Video games are now a legitimate high school sportIn a contrast to many video game consoles and PCs, Google says Stadia won't require any downloads, updates, patches or installs for its content.Stadia also comes with its own controller, supported through WiFi. Much like current generation video game consoles, the controller will have buttons to capture gameplay happening on a user's screen instantly. However, Google has also inserted a Google Assistant button for its AI-powered virtual assistant. The controller also includes a built-in microphone.According to Engadget, the service will actually allow viewers watching a Stadia streaming to jump in line to join their game as part of a "Crowd Play" feature.Google released a trailer for the upcoming platform, touting it as a new place for gamers to play together:The service will launch later in 2019 in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and in several European countries. Thus far, Stadia's main competition in the video market would appear to be the big three: Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. While Sony's "Playstation Now" currently offers hundreds of games on a subscription-based service, Microsoft intends to release its own subscription service called "Xbox Game Pass." Nintendo doesn't have a streaming service, but offers on-the-go console gaming without the need for a constant internet connection, like Stadia.Amazon and Verizon are reportedly testing ideas for their own video game offerings as well. 2073

(KGTV) - A former model and actor this week accused Star Trek icon George Takei of sexually assaulting him.Scott R. Brunton claimed Takei took advantage of him in 1981 when Brunton, then 23, was going through a breakup, according to The Hollywood Reporter."This happened a long time ago, but I have never forgotten it," Brunton told The Hollywood Reporter. "It is one of those stories you tell with a group of people when people are recounting bizarre instances in their lives, this always comes up. I have been telling it for years, but I am suddenly very nervous telling it."RELATED: Online sexual harassment pervasive as Weinstein scandal growsBrunton alleged that Takei invited him over to his Hollywood condo one evening for drinks. Brunton said he passed out after a couple of drinks and when he came to, Takei had pulled down his pants and was groping his genitals.Takei responded to the allegations on Facebook, saying the events, "simply did not occur.""I have wracked my brain to ask if I remember Mr. Brunton, and I cannot say I do. But I do take these claims very seriously, and I wanted to provide my response thoughtfully and not out of the moment," Takei wrote on Facebook. "...Those that know me understand that non-consensual acts are so antithetical to my values and my practices, the very idea that someone would accuse me of this is quite personally painful."Brunton claims to have met with Takei years later in Portland, where Brunton now lives, while Takei was there on a book tour, THR reports. However, he told the publication he never went to the press because he assumed no one would take him seriously.RELATED: Louis C.K. says 'stories' about him are true, apologizes in statementThe claims come on the heels of a windfall of other accusations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior by Hollywood actors and executives. Most recently, comedian Louis C.K. and actor Kevin Spacey have been accused of sexual misconduct. (KGTV) -- Adults in their mid-20s are now more likely to live with a parent than with a spouse, according to an Apartment List report. Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the report found that 50 years ago, 76 percent of 26-year-olds in America lived with their spouse. Today, only 24 percent of 26-year-olds live with a spouse while they are more likely to live with a parent. The bureau also found that 17 percent of 26-year-olds live with an unmarried partner, 15 percent live with a non-family roommate and 10 percent live alone. In 2007, the year before the collapse of the housing market bubble, the composition of housing began to change.According to Apartment List, the economic recession, ballooning student debt and lack of affordable housing in cities with job opportunities placed pressure on young adults who, in previous generations, would have been able to start their own households. So what about the future? Apartment List says it expects the trend to continue as housing costs skyrocket. As rents rise, the site says roommates and co-living arrangements will become even more appealing. Despite the discouraging trend, there are solutions. A housing development in the South Bay aims to give San Diego renters a better chance to become homeowners. For those who are teachers, San Diego could begin to build affordable housing for employees and teachers struggling to make ends meet. The solutions come as San Diego home sales rise after a steady decline. 1486

(KGTV) — Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said a new ad featuring him on behalf of President Trump's coronavirus response was taken out of context.Fauci told CNN in a statement that the ad, which features a clip of Fauci, took his words out of context for the benefit of President Trump. Fauci said he didn't consent to be featured in the ad and that he doesn't provide any political endorsements. In the ad, the clip shows Fauci during an interview saying, "I can't imagine that anybody could be doing more.""In my nearly five decades of public service, I have never publicly endorsed any political candidate. The comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials," Fauci said.According to CNN, Fauci's comments were from a March interview with Fox News, in which he comments on the White House's coronavirus task force for its round-the-clock effort to respond to the pandemic. For context, Fauci's quote described the task force's work as: "We've never had a threat like this. The coordinated response has been ...There are a number of adjectives to describe it -- impressive, I think is one of them. We're talking about all hands on deck. I, as one of many people on a team, I'm not the only person. Since the beginning, that we even recognized what this was, I have been devoting almost full time on this. I'm down at the White House virtually every day with the task force. It's every single day. So, I can't imagine that under any circumstances that anybody could be doing more."The Trump campaign told CNN that, "These are Dr. Fauci's own words. The video is from a nationally broadcast television interview in which Dr. Fauci was praising the work of the Trump Administration. The words spoken are accurate, and directly from Dr. Fauci's mouth." 1957
