The Sarasota County, Florida School District confirms they are looking into a racially offensive promposal that was posted to social media. A spokesperson for the district confirms the Riverview High School senior posted a picture that they worry will be a disruptor to the school and student safety. The post made to Snapchat reads, "If I was Black I'd be picking cotton, but I'm white so I'm picking U 4 Prom?"The district tells us they have not concluded if the 18-year-old will be banned from prom as it's an ongoing investigation. Sarasota County Schools has released the following statement on the incident: 636

The Southeastern Conference is considering barring league championship events in Mississippi unless the state changes its Confederate-based flag.“It is past time for change to be made to the flag of the State of Mississippi,” Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement Thursday. “Our students deserve an opportunity to learn and compete in environments that are inclusive and welcoming to all. In the event there is no change, there will be consideration of precluding Southeastern Conference championship events from being conducted in the State of Mississippi until the flag is changed.”The NCAA has already said it would not schedule postseason events in Mississippi because of the state flag.National protests about racial injustice have renewed debate about Confederate symbols. The medication is delivered into a muscle as a single dose, like a shot, through an injector pen with a spring.Allergies from food, bug bites, medications and latex can cause life-threatening reactions.The newly approved generic is made by Teva Pharmaceuticals and offers an alternative for patients who, until now, have been able to use only the brand-name EpiPen made by Mylan.
