GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Several dozen students interrupted an event featuring actress Jenna Fischer at DePauw University Tuesday to protests recent racial incidents on and near campus.Many of them held signs with things claiming they are "afraid for their lives" after recent events. Fischer, star of the sicoms "The Office" and "Splitting Up Together" was at the university to discuss her new book, "The Actor's Life: A Survivor's Guide."University Spokesman Ken Owen, who was moderating the lecture with Fischer, said about 15 minutes into the program a group of students got up and began interrupting the event whistling, shouting and saying they were afraid for their safety on campus because of the recent racial incidents. Last week, a hateful message was found written in a bathroom at the university. The message, which read " All ******* must die -KKK," was written on a bathroom wall of the Inn at DePauw, a public building on campus. HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies arrested a 71-year-old Hernando County Commissioner on Thursday for allegedly hiring a prostitute and letting his home be used as a house brothel.In February, deputies were called to the home of Hernando County Commissioner Nick Nicholson because his roommates, 30-year-old Valerie Surette and 32-year-old Kendel Surette were involved in a domestic dispute.While in the home deputies found drug paraphernalia. Garrett Rolfe, the now fired Atlanta Police officer who shot Rayshard Brooks twice late Friday night, has turned himself into the Fulton County (Georgia) Jail on Thursday.Bond has not been set for Rolfe as of Thursday afternoon.Rolfe has been indicted on 11 charges, including murder. Investigators said Rolfe fired two shots at Brooks, resulting in the Brooks’ death.Officer Devin Brosnan has been charged with aggravated assault and several violations of his oath of office. Brosnan was placed on administrative leave late Saturday.As of late Thursday afternoon, Brosnan was no longer in custody after he was released on bond.Brooks died on Friday night after Rolfe shot him in the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant.The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said that officers responded to a call of a man who fell asleep behind the wheel in a drive thru. The police accused Brooks of failing a field sobriety test, which prompted the officers to attempt to arrest Brooks.Video of the incident showed that Brooks then struggled with officers over a Taser.
