Capacity for the museum has also been cut to 25%, but staff will monitor levels every 15 minutes.Guests and staff will undergo temperature checks and wellness screenings before entering the museum, and facial coverings will be required. The museum is also condensing its hours to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Due to the high touch potential, the museum's gift shop is temporarily closed. Museum staff will be cleaning and sanitizing surfaces throughout the day.The museum's tours will be self-guided, but volunteers will be available through the museum to help guests."We wanted to offer a special treat for visitors and residents of San Diego during the stress of the global pandemic," Raymond Ashley, president and CEO of the Maritime Museum of San Diego, said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Just days after San Diego County ordered a shutdown of indoor dining and San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer signed an executive order that makes it easier for restaurants to move seating outdoors, many restaurants are already opening up business outside.Johan Engman is the owner of Rise and Shine Hospitality, which has 18 restaurant locations under the umbrella. Ten of those are Breakfast Republic. He said about half of the 18 locations have expanded to include either sidewalk, parking lot, or shared courtyard space for tables.“Let’s not waste our time complaining or feeling sorry for ourselves. Let’s figure out what do we need to do to give us the best odds to survive this and let’s just do it,” said Engman.For the Pacific Beach Breakfast Republic location, he said there were about 170 seats prior to coronavirus. Once there were social distancing limits, he could seat about 80. With the new ban on indoor seating, that left only about 30 seats on his patio, so the addition of parking lot space will bump seating back up to about 80 people. He said financially, they’re taking a hit, but he made the decision to stay open to help his employees.“Not only seeing how financially detrimental that is, but the morale. So you lay off all your managers then you hire them back. It's drawn attention as one of the state's most innovative programs for bringing together inmates of different security levels on the premise that they will coexist peacefully in exchange for some freedoms.The Echo Yard, the state's first non-designated yard, also aims to keep released inmates out of prison.Around 50 percent of people convicted of a crime in California are sent back to prison within three years, according to a 2019 state auditor report. Members of Echo Yard get greater access to self-help, educational, vocational, and rehabilitative programs through courses like anger management, victim awareness, job hunting, and money management. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Iconic TV host Regis Philbin, who has roots in San Diego television history, has died at the age of 88, multiple news outlets report.According to a family statement obtained by PEOPLE, Philbin passed away from natural causes Friday night.Philbin returned to his roots in 2018 with a visit to 10News.After a stint in the United States Navy, he moved to San Diego where he launched a career in broadcast.
