COMPTON (KGTV) - Two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were shot at a Compton train station late Saturday in what the department is calling an ambush-style attack.A 24-year-old male deputy and 31-year-old female deputy were shot as they sat inside their patrol vehicle at the Metro Blue Line station at Willowbrook Ave. and Oak St. just before 7 p.m., according to the department.The department said both deputies sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where they underwent surgery. CINCINNATI — Jonathan Frierson of Lincoln Heights, Ohio says he's honored to have known Sen. John McCain personally as his bus driver.“Driving the 'Straight Talk Express Coach' for Senator McCain,” Frierson told WCPO. “Got started in 2000. (KGTV) — An Air Force pilot who was killed in Vietnam was honored on Tuesday with an official U.S Air Force Memorial Flyover in Coronado.His widow also honored for her years of work, fighting for prisoners of war and those missing in action to be acknowledged. Colonel Arthur "Art" S. (AP) — A gunman opened fire inside a Southern California Costco during an argument Friday night, killing a man, wounding two other people and sparking a stampede of terrified shoppers before he was taken into custody, police said.Police swarmed the Costco after shots were reported at the huge store about 50 miles (80.5 kilometers) southeast of downtown Los Angeles.Witnesses told KCAL-TV that a man with a Mohawk haircut was arguing with someone near a freezer section when he pulled a gun and fired at least six shots.The man involved in the argument was killed and two other people were wounded, Corona police Lt. In a release issued after 1 a.m. Saturday, Corona police said their conditions were unknown.The suspected gunman was apprehended, said he was injured and was taken to the hospital, Edwards said.No identities were immediately released.
