SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The man accused of killing his stepmother and burying her body in the backyard of a Tijuana home pleaded guilty to unrelated drug charges Tuesday. Aaron Seth Juarez, 20, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin for sale and agreed to a two-year state prison sentence. Juarez was taken into custody in San Diego earlier this month for probation violations. He’s also wanted by the Deputy Attorney General of Justice in Tijuana on suspicion of killing Fernanda González Serrano in February.RELATED: Man suspected of killing stepmother found in Tijuana backyard arrestedGonzález was last heard from on Feb. 2. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The leader of a San Diego motorcycle gang pleaded guilty Tuesday to participating in a scheme to seal dozens of Jeep Wranglers in San Diego County. Jimmy Josue Martinez, a leader of the Hooligans motorcycle gang, pleaded guilty Tuesday, admitting to participating in the scheme. According to court records, the gang is responsible for the theft of more than 150 of the vehicles since 2014, totaling about .5 million. Records show that the Hooligans used high-tech methods to disable security systems and steal the Jeeps before taking them to Tijuana to be sold or stripped for parts. Martinez and members of his crew would obtain the vehicle identification number in advance before getting secret key codes which allowed them to create a duplicate key for a particular Jeep. “The joy ride is over for Mr. Martinez,” said U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer. “These thefts were audacious and sophisticated and created hassle and heartache for scores of Jeep owners. I congratulate prosecutors Andrew Galvin and Joseph S. Green, the FBI and members of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force for putting together a strong case against a gang that, unfortunately, has lived up to its name.”Along with Martinez, eight other members of the gang were charged in a grand jury indictment in 2017. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The father whose two children died in a Rancho Bernardo home fire in 2017 was found guilty on all counts Monday. Jurors found Henry Lopez guilty of two counts of child endangerment, recklessly causing a fire causing great bodily injury, and two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the death of his two children.Prosecutors argued Lopez fell asleep with a lit cigarette, starting the fire that killed 7-year-old Isabella and 10-year-old Cristos and destroyed his condominium. Lopez’ attorney said a defective cell phone was the likely ignition source. Lopez woke up to find his home on fire and tried to escape but passed out from smoke, investigators said. Firefighters later found him and took him to the hospital. Deputy District Attorney Kyle Sutterley said Cristos died of burns to more than 80 percent of his body and Isabella died of smoke inhalation. "A parent has a responsibility to care for their children, a responsibility to protect their children, and if need be, to sacrifice themselves for their children. And Henry Lopez, on Oct. 28, 2017, he failed his children, and as a result, one of them burned to death, and one of them went to sleep and never woke up,'' Sutterley said in his closing argument.
