(KGTV) — Upon President Trump's visit to the Calexico border Friday, Rep. Duncan Hunter requested the President pardon two former Border Patrol agents.Ignacio Ramos, Jr., and Jose Compean were both jailed in 2006, for 11 and 12 years, respectively, on assault with a firearm resulting in great bodily injury and obstruction of justice charges. Both former agents had their sentences communed by former President George W. Bush in 2009.RELATED: President Trump visits Southern California, tours US-Mexico border in CalexicoThe agents were in pursuit of Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila in 2005 near El Paso, Texas, for suspected drug activity. The pursuit became a foot chase when Aldrete-Davila reportedly abandoned his van and tried to run back across the border to Mexico.During the foot chase, Ramos caught up and a struggle began between the two, Hunter's letter stated. Aldrete-Davila broke free and made a run, again, toward the border, during which time both Ramos and Compean opened fire, striking Aldrete-Davila in the buttocks. 1035

A 28-year-old doctor in Houston has died of COVID-19, according to a GoFundMe set up by her family.According to an update from her father, Dr. Adeline Fagan died on Sept. 19, more than two months after contracting the virus.Fagan, a native of Syracuse, New York, was in the second year of a residency as an OB/GYN at a Houston hospital, according to KTRK-TV in Houston. She typically only worked in the hospital's delivery room, but on July 8, she took a shift in the ER treating COVID-19 patients.Fagan's family says that morning, "feeling well and excited to see patients" as she headed in to see her patients. But later that day, she started to feel "intense, flu-like symptoms."Within a week, Fagan had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and had been hospitalized. Despite several experimental drug treatments, she was placed on a ventilator on Aug. 3.She remained on the ventilator until Saturday evening when a nurse found her unresponsive. She had suffered a massive brain bleed and was later pronounced dead.According to KHOU-TV in Houston, it was Fagan's lifelong dream to be a doctor."She fought for it," Fagan's sister, Natalie, said. "She fought hard. She studied hard. She studied really hard and she got there."So far, the GoFundMe for Fagan has raised 0,000 — more than its goal of 0,000."If you can do one thing, be an “Adeline” in the world," Fagan's father wrote on GoFundMe. "Be passionate about helping others less fortunate, have a smile on your face, a laugh in your heart, and a Disney tune on your lips."CNN reports that of the 200,000 people in America who have died of COVID-19 since February, nearly 1,500 have been people aged between 25 and 34. 1681

A 36-year-old man who was suffering from chronic heart failure shocked doctors when he coughed up a blood clot closely resembling the bronchial tree in his right lung in late November.Georg Wieselthaler, a transplant and pulmonary surgeon at the University of California at San Francisco told the Atlantic: “We were astonished. It’s a curiosity you can’t imagine—I mean, this is very, very, very rare.”Per the New England Journal of Medicine, the man was an ICU patient at the University of San Francisco Medical Center being treated for end-stage heart failure.During the week of the patient's hospitalization, the man had periodic episodes of coughing, which progressed to one extreme coughing fit when he suddenly expelled the unusual clot. After being supplied oxygen via a tube, the man's coughing ceased two days later, leading to the removal of the tube. Unfortunately, even though the coughing ceased, his health took a turn for the worse.Despite the doctor's best efforts and the assistance of a ventrical device, the man died from heart failure a week later. The source of information in this article has been provided largely in part to an article in the New England Journal of Medicine. 1225

(KGTV) -A nonprofit group is stepping up to find a solution following complaints of people living out of their cars across neighborhoods in San Diego. In February, the City of San Diego unanimously voted to repeal a 1983 city ordinance preventing people from living out of their vehicles. The change cleared the way for vehicle dwellers to live on any street within San Diego. A newly-formed resident coalition is documenting what it says are the problems the ordinance created. The information is being sent to San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s office. “We have literally witnessed buckets of waste being thrown out of some of these vehicles. I’ve witnessed drug dealing out of some of the motor homes, we’ve seen bike chop shops operating,” Pacific Beach resident Racheal Allen said. RELATED: Group pressures San Diego leaders to reverse vehicle habitation decisionCity councilwoman Jennifer Campbell recently proposed the city-owned South Shores parking lot near SeaWorld as a designated site for people living out of their cars. Some people had already began using the parking lot as a camping site, but some residents expressed discontent with that solution. The issue is a concern well beyond San Diego’s city limits. A nonprofit group, Jewish Family Services, is now working on a proposal that could potentially turn a privately-owned church parking lot in San Marcos into a designated space for these campers. RELATED: More San Diego residents with children are living in cars because of housing crisis, group saysA San Marcos resident said he’s not opposed to the idea, but he would need to know more about the specifics before taking up a stance on the issue. “How is it going to work, how are they going to control who comes and goes, how are they going to manage the security, the safety, and the health, I think first and foremost, and then what are they going to do if it somehow starts negatively impacting the community,” said Ruben Galvan. Jewish Family Services officials said the group is in the exploration phase of the proposal and is reviewing different sites as options. RELATED: Fake citations being left on Ocean Beach RVs, vans where people may live“If they control the situation it could probably work, for both the unfortunate homeless people and the community, I think they just need to monitor it and say, ‘hey, if it’s not working, we’ve got to figure something different,” Galvan said. 2426
