Co-owner Ryan Skidmore says his family got the call from SDG&E on Tuesday night, warning of a potential shutoff."Honestly it is was, 'here we go again.' We just got done with this," said Skidmore.Back in September, the Valley Fire decimated the 16-year-old farm known for sustainable farming. The Skidmores lost most of their crops and irrigation lines, along with 125 chickens.The family had tried to get wildfire insurance but was denied, partly because the farm is in a wildfire-prone area. Their total loss was more than 0,000.While several buildings were destroyed, seven others are still standing, including two homes. When the winds pick up, Skidmore will worry."There's flammable material on adjacent properties, and it could always come onto our property and burn what didn’t burn the first time," said Skidmore.Skidmore spent Wednesday hand trimming brush near structures. He'll also be checking his backup power sources, in case the power is shut off. Without power, they can't pump water from their wells."We have three different generators. A big one for the main house and smaller ones for tools and outbuildings," said Skidmore.With their power plans in place, Skidmore says they will settle in and brace for the wind."It's nerve-racking. The wind is so unpredictable," said Skidmore.Since the fires, neighbors have volunteered for cleanups and donated chickens and supplies. Skidmore says they are optimistic about their rebuild if they can avoid any more fires. 1711

JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK (KGTV) -- After four days alone in the desert, Paul Hanks was found injured - but alive - Thursday night. The 54-year-old went missing while hiking the Maze Loop on Sunday, March 11, The High Desert Star reports. He left San Diego on Sunday, but never checked into his hotel. The Maze Loop is the same trail where the bodies of Rachel Nguyen and Josseph Orbeso were found near last October, nearly three months after they were reported missing in July. RELATED: Missing couple in Joshua Tree National Park died in murder-suicideHanks' pickup truck was found in the same parking lot as Nguyen and Orbeso. Just after 4 p.m. Thursday a member of the Joshua Park Search and Rescue team located Hanks, Gerorge Land, the park's public information officer said in a Facebook video. "It appears he fell about 20 feet," Land said. "He sustained some head injuries, we don't know the exact nature of all of his injuries...but he was conscious, he was talking to rescuers."10News is working to learn more about Hanks' current condition. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri House Minority Leader has filed a resolution that asks the special House committee to start the impeachment process against Republican Gov. Eric Greitens.Tuesday night, the Republican leadership of the Missouri House and Senate both called for Greitens to resign. In a joint statement, Speaker of the House Todd Richardson and others asked the governor to do the right thing and “step aside.” Shortly after that announcement Gov. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There is no rule book when it comes to COVID-19, with endless questions still surrounding the potentially deadly virus. One big question that many are now asking: If you've already had the virus, should you get the vaccine when it becomes available? "Certainly right now, it's looking like they are going to recommend people that have had COVID to go ahead and get the vaccine when it's available to them, based either on their job or on their other health conditions," said Dr. Sarah Boyd, infectious diseases physician at Saint Luke's Health System.Boyd said it is important for everyone to get the vaccine, even those who already have had COVID-19."We know the majority of people that are at about 90 days, but there are some that probably longer," Boyd said. "Over the next few months, there will be information I am sure coming out about the natural course of immunity and if at some point you are at risk to get reinfection."Amanda Finley tested positive for the coronavirus twice and wants to get the vaccine as soon as she can."For me, I haven't had adverse reactions before, but the only way to know if it is going to affect long-haulers is if we try it," Finley said. "I just don't feel right saying, 'oh, somebody goes try it for me.' I will gladly do it. I will be first in line."She runs a Facebook group for COVID long-haulers.Some of the members in the group are excited about the vaccine, while others are nervous about it. But Finley said a big reason why she will get the virus is a simple one."Because I definitely do not want to get this again," Finley said. "It affects every system in the body. It's not just a respiratory disease, that is just how we found it. It affects your cardiovascular system, it affects your brain, it affects your muscles.
