From your smartphone to your TV, computer or tablet, many of us pretty much stare at screens most of the day. This can put a strain on our eyes, which is why some people are turning to blue light filtering glasses. "I get people in here every day saying that their eyes get really sore, they burn or get really dry by the end of the day," said ophthalmologist Lauran Zimski. "When people sit at a computer, they blink about half the amount of times they would normally blink."You can find the blue light glasses at eyeglass counters, online and at big box stores. They can cost anywhere from up to 0. "So, blue is a particular wavelength of light that has been shown to basically keep you awake during the day," said Zimski. Zimski says there’s research that supports the theory that the glasses help people sleep."There's a lot of good research that shows if you wear blue blocking glasses before bedtime when you're looking at a digital device, you will fall asleep easier," said Zimski. But, if you're sitting in an office all day, Zimski says "there’s no real evidence that it helps with eye strain during the day staring at a computer."So, what does that mean for those addicted to their devices?"I certainly do have patients that feel like they do help with eye strain at the computer so you can certainly try them, but they may or may not make a difference," said Zimski. 1396

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was ordered Wednesday to serve an additional 43 months on federal conspiracy charges, bringing his total sentence between two federal courts to 7.5 years in twin cases stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.US District Court Judge 317

If it weren’t for the never ending Fake News about me, and with all that I have done (more than any other President in the first 2 1/2 years!), I would be leading the “Partners” of the LameStream Media by 20 points. Sorry, but true!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 11, 2019 299

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford will launch a longshot primary challenge for the 2020 Republican nomination, he announced Sunday, giving President Donald Trump another Republican challenger as he runs for reelection."I had planned to announce that back home this week. We had a hurricane come visit us on the coast of South Carolina so that sort of disrupted plans on that front," Sanford said in an interview on "Fox News Sunday." "But I am here to tell you now, that I am going to get in."When asked why he was running, he said because "I think we need to have a conversation on what it means to be a Republican," adding that he thinks the Republican Party has lost its way on "a couple different fronts."He becomes the third Republican to mount a primary challenge against the President. In April, former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld officially entered the race, and last month, former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh announced his candidacy. Trump's campaign had a one-word response to Sanford's announcement: "irrelevant," campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said.Sanford, discussing what was then a potential candidacy, told CNN's Brianna Keilar in July there has been "no discussion of debt, deficit and government spending in Washington these days," and that those issues would be a focal point of his campaign were he to run. However, although Sanford has been a frequent critic of Trump, he has said he would back the President instead of a Democrat.Faces long oddsSanford, who has been privately considering whether to run since leaving office in January, faces long odds in his bid against Trump, whose approval rating among Republicans has consistently been around 90%. His decision to challenge Trump comes after losing his primary race last year for South Carolina's 1st Congressional District where he failed to find support in the state's Republican Party as a vocal critic of the President. 1916
