SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego Police Sergeant accused of soliciting sex with a minor was found dead after failing to show up for court Monday. Joseph Ruvido, 49, was absent from his arraignment Monday, forcing a judge to issue a bench warrant and revoking his bail of 0,000. According to police, Ruvido was found dead around 4:25 p.m. as officers conducted a welfare check at his Carmel Valley home. Ruvido was charged Monday with two felony counts of arranging a meeting with a minor with sexual intent and one count of attempted lewd acts on a minor between the ages of 14 and 15.The prosecutor won't provide details citing the ongoing investigation, but says the acts were committed July 6th. Police arrested Ruvido at his home in Carmel Valley on July 26th, two days after getting a Crime Stoppers tip. ABC said the violations arose out of sales of alcohol included in the 2018 promotion.The "Monopoly" promotion was held at Albertsons stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Pac N Save, and Pavilions locations.The promotion advertised certain beer brands by MillerCoors as part of the game. Customers received additional chances to win prizes if they purchased those brands, according to ABC."This particular violation gave these retailers a competitive advantage by offering consumers a gift or premium for purchasing alcoholic beverage products," ABC Director Jacob Appelsmith said in a release.ABC filed action against nearly 600 stores across California, accusing the companies of violation several regulations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An Encinitas family on vacation woke up to a disturbing alert last week, video of someone stealing multiple packages from their porch.Homeowner Mark Sandorf says the most peculiar thing was who the thief was."It’s different in that she looks like she’s probably someone’s grandma," said Sandorf.The family immediately filed a police report from New Mexico.10News blurred the woman's face because the San Diego Sheriff's Department has not yet said she's a wanted suspect.One of the packages had sentimental value, three custom holsters for Sandorf's son who is in law enforcement."My son is, like I said, risking his life out there every day and we try to keep him in good equipment and what not. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego psychiatrist no longer has a license after authorities say he was intoxicated while practicing.According to the Medical Board of California, Marco Antonio Chavez’s license was suspended following an investigation.The investigation began after authorities say a patient reported that Chavez sent him a box of medication in 2017 that contained an empty vodka bottle.During one of several office visits, an investigator said Chavez appeared to be intoxicated.Documents show that Chavez told the investigator that his mother gave him a “Mexican home remedy to stop his drinking” which consisted of vodka and cloves. At a hearing, Chaves said he had two of the drinks that morning.During the visit, the investigator told Chavez he believed he was “so intoxicated that he could not practice medicine” and told two patients in the waiting room to go home.A test conducted by a San Diego Police officer shows that Chavez had a blood alcohol level of .216.
