Sometimes, it's nice to eat healthy. Other times, you just want artificial flavoring in your cereal.General Mills gets that now. A year and a half after the company removed artificial colors and flavors from its Trix cereal, it's bringing them back."Classic Trix" -- the bright, rainbow version from your childhood -- will hit shelves in October, the company announced Thursday.The news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.The all-natural Trix -- called "No, No, No" Trix -- will still be available to consumers who want to cut factory-made dyes from their diet. That version gets its more muted coloring from fruit and vegetable juices and spice extracts, like turmeric and annatto, which is derived from the achiote tree.General Mills announced in 2015 that it would remove artificial flavors and colors from all its cereals."We're simply listening to consumers and these ingredients are not what people are looking for in their cereal today," Jim Murphy, president of the company's cereal division, said in a statement at the time.The changes to Trix took effect in January, 2016.But fans of that earlier recipe for Trix believe they were misheard."Our Trix fans have been calling us, emailing us and reaching out to us on social media asking if we would consider bringing back the original formulation of Trix cereal with its vibrant colors. As a result, we are launching 'Classic Trix' to fill these consumer requests," General Mills spokesman Mike Siemienas said Thursday to explain the change.Siemienas said the company doesn't have any plans to change up the ingredients in its other cereals. Several Hilltown, Pennsylvania, police officers helped save a distressed horse from a burning barn last week, which was captured by an officer’s body-worn camera.Officer Matthew Reiss told KYW-TV that he did not have much time to get Phoebe the horse out of the barn."Quickly improvise, and come up with a solution to get that animal out,” Reiss said.Other horses were in the barn at the time of the fire and were rescued by friends and family, but Phoebe was reportedly too spooked to follow.That’s when the officers and horse trainer Lena Obernesser teamed to get Phoebe out. Obernesser used a shirt to cover her eyes and push the horse to safety as Reiss used a rope to pull Phoebe to safety. Phoebe then ran to safety."She was definitely terrified, the cops were fantastic though, they jumped right in,” Obernesser told KYW. “I saw the footage and I was just in awe. Like oh my God, thank God they were here."Obernesser credited the officers for rescuing Phoebe.“They really stepped up, we had so many people reaching out,” she said. “it was, I was so proud to be a part of this community."After a week, Phoebe is reportedly in good health. SORRENTO VALLEY (KGTV): An 11-year old volunteer is proving that age doesn't matter when it comes to helping the hungry.Aiden Gruby has been volunteering at Feeding San Diego since he was six. His parents brought him as part of a family activity. He was hooked immediately."I think it’s really great. I love that feeling of helping people," he says.He loved it so much that his family started coming every week. When Aiden turned 10, Feeding San Diego asked him to become a team leader.Typically, the organization waits until people are 13 before they can take a leadership role.As a leader, Aiden helps with orientation and rules. He also directs volunteers as they sort food."I’m just so proud of him wanting to give back to our community," says mom Janessa Gruby. "There are kids who would rather spend their weekend playing sports, or playing video games, and he has asked us to come every weekend."Aiden says his favorite part of the job is "reclamation," which is the process of checking all incoming food for package integrity, expiration date and then sorting it by category.He has no plans to slow down any time soon."I think it’s really good to help people in need of food," he says. SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - Evacuees from the Valley Fire began to head home Thursday morning as Cal Fire lifted evacuation orders throughout the area."We're trying to head out early," said Deehorn Valley resident Dale Elliott. "That way we can get everything straightened up, cleaned up try to put things back."Elliott's family is one of 140 families the Red Cross helped over the last week. Evacuees were offered food, first aid, hotel rooms and more.Red Cross Regional CEO Shawn Mahoney said they served 1,200 meals on Wednesday alone.This was Elliott's first time having to evacuate, and he told ABC 10News, "With the dogs and my mother-in-law visiting and all of our stuff, we thought we should evacuate just to be on the safe side.”Elliott checked on his home Tuesday to make sure it hadn't been damaged in the fire. He said he'll have to clean out the refrigerator, but that's the only issue.Many others weren't as lucky.Cal Fire said 30 homes and 29 other buildings were destroyed in the fire. As the Valley Fire continues to burn, some areas are still under evacuation orders or warnings.The Red Cross says they will keep the shelters open as long as they're needed. 1186
