SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego State Men's Basketball Team sought to keep their undefeated season as they faced off against Boise State Saturday.SDSU won 83-65 and is 17-0 mid-way through the season.Saturday's game was sold out, the third time it's been standing room only this season.The student section roared during the game, chanting and cheering on the team. They were certain the men would remain undefeated.The team is ranked 7 in the country, and the top in their conference.They played Boise State at Viejas Arena. Boise St. was 11-7 this season. 565

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Rock ’n’ Roll marathon returns to San Diego in June, bringing hundreds of athletes and music to city streets. The 5K event is scheduled for Saturday June 1, while the half-marathon and marathon will be held Sunday, June 2. Entry fees are , 2, and 2 respectively. The marathon course starts on Sixth Avenue near Balboa Park. It extends as far east as Kensington, and north to Mission Bay Park, with a finish in Little Italy. Runners can enjoy the sounds of bands along the course, and support from San Diego cheerleading groups. For those who don’t want to run, the Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon Health and Fitness Expo will take place Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1 at the San Diego Convention Center. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego City Council voted in favor Tuesday of an affordable housing plan which critics say could raise rents and home prices across San Diego.The vote, which came after hours of public comment, was five to four in support of the proposal.Council President Georgette Gomez moved to require developers to reserve 10 to 15 percent of new housing units in complexes for low to moderate income households. The plan includes other options, but if all else fails the proposal would raise the affordable housing in-lieu fee developers pay by 72 percent. For a typical 1,800 square foot unit, that would be an additional ,000 in construction costs that could be passed on to tenants. “We’re in a royal housing mess, and I almost would like to say, today, believe it or not, are the good old days for housing, because we’re staring straight into a bigger problem,” said Borre Winckel, who heads the San Diego Building Industry Association. But supporters of the proposal say the city needs the housing. Many workers are now being forced to commute from far away because there is no housing available. A report last year found the region still needed more than 140,000. "We’re certainly not trying to drive the cost of housing. Our number one goal here is to try to incentivize and regulate in a more fair manner the building of affordable housing,” said Keith Maddox, of the San Diego Imperial Counties Labor Council. Councilman Scott Sherman, who opposes the proposal, said the larger fee would add to a market rate rental and ,000 to the price of a home. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — There has been a recent spike in the number of school threats in San Diego County, with five this week alone.Three of those have resulted in arrests at Poway High, Fallbrook High, and El Capitan High.
