(KGTV) — A 23-year-old man is behind bars after leading San Diego Sheriff's deputies on a short pursuit in a vehicle that was reported stolen.Deputies received a broadcast from Carlsbad Police of a stolen vehicle on Sunday just after 1 p.m. in the area of Palomar Airport Rd. heading toward San Marcos. Nearby deputies began searching the area and located the vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot of a Target on Business Park Dr. in Vista.While they waited for an ASTREA helicopter and canine unit, deputies set up surveillance on the vehicle. After a few minutes, the suspected driver, identified as Dylan Kidd, returned and deputies moved in toward the vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department (SDSO).Kidd started up the vehicle and led deputies on a four- to five-minute pursuit, during which deputies say he drove recklessly out of the parking lot and onto nearby streets. Kidd eventually left the vehicle and fled into a nearby canyon, according to the department.The vehicle, however, continued and crashed into the garage door of a home on White Sands Drive, causing some minor damage.With the ASTREA helicopter above, deputies were led to Kidd's location after about six minutes and he surrendered to deputies, SDSO said. SANTA ANA (CNS) - An Orange County pastor is due in a Santa Ana courtroom Monday on felony charges of molesting seven children ages 5 to 15.John Rodgers McFarland, who has been the head pastor at Orangethorpe United Methodist Church in Fullerton since 2014, was arrested on a warrant Thursday charging him with seven counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14 and four counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor 14 to 15 years old.The 56-year-old Fullerton resident is accused of molesting the children between 2003 and 2017, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.McFarland, who's being held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of million bail, faces up to 179 years to life in prison if convicted, prosecutors said.RELATED: Pastor arrested by Escondido Police on suspicion of child molestationIn San Diego County, McFarland was arrested and charged in December with molesting a girl younger than 14 in Escondido between 2012 and 2013. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) – Authorities have identified the victim and suspect after a man and a woman were found dead in a San Marcos home Monday. The Medical Examiner identified the victim as Michelle Johnson, 43, as the victim and Tiko Leal, 49, as the suspect. Deputies were called to the home on the 1000 block of Lanza Court early Monday morning after receiving reports of unknown trouble. Neighbors told deputies that two children, ages 10 and 11, were inside the home and afraid to come out. After entering the home, Johnson and Leal were found unresponsive with trauma to their bodies, according to the department. Say goodbye to another 40 Sears and Kmart stores.Sears Holdings (SHLD), the bankrupt parent company of the two retailers, said Thursday that 11 Kmart locations and 29 Sears stores will close their doors in February 2019 — adding to the nearly 200?locations the company has already said will shut down in coming months.The closures are part of Sears Holdings' efforts to drastically reduce costs and find a viable way forward as it moves through bankruptcy proceedings. The company has?been struggling for several years and is drowning in debt.Liquidation sales at the 40 locations "are expected to begin late next week," the company said.Sears Holdings operated about 1,000 stores as recently as February but has been shuttering underperforming stores. When the company filed for bankruptcy last month, it said it only had about 400 stores that could turn a profit. Now, it's in the process of shedding more dead weight.In its bankruptcy filing, Sears named 142 of its worst-performing stores that would shut down in the coming months. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The amount of snow blanketing the Sierra Nevada is even larger than the 2017 snowpack that pulled the state out of a five-year drought, California water officials said.As of Thursday, the snowpack measured 202% of average after a barrage of storms throughout winter and spring, according to the Department of Water Resources.The wet weather has slowed but not stopped, with thunderstorms prompting flash flood warnings Sunday in the central and southern parts of the state.At this time last year, the snowpack measured 6% of average — making this year 33 times bigger than 2018, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.In 2017, the snowpack measured 190% of average.The snowpack supplies about 30 percent of state water needs.In the Tahoe Basin, Squaw Valley ski resort has seen so much snow it plans to keep its slopes open until least July 5. In May alone, Squaw recorded 37 inches (94 centimeters).State officials consider the most important snowpack measurement to be the one taken around April 1 because that's typically when storm activity subsides."And then after that the sun's highest position in the sky contributes to rapid melting.
