Algra says he underwent an infectious disease consultation and will require HIV and Hepatitis C tests every six months.“Right now I’m trying to channel and redirect the anger that I feel about what happened to him, that I wasn’t able to keep him safe," said Algra.She's created a petition to designate San Diego’s playgrounds for children only; adults are only allowed if they’re accompanied by a child.Similar ordinances already exist in New York and Florida, people who violate them can face fines. "I think that most people can use common sense and understand that an adult is not meant to be living under a slide, or sitting on a swing doing drugs or otherwise, that's not what these playgrounds are designed for," said Algra. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was found shot inside their vehicle in the Encanto area on Wednesday, according to police.The shooting occurred in the 6200 block of Varney Drive, near Leaf Terrace and Vado Way, just after 7:30 p.m., according to San Diego Police. Officers arrived to find a man in a vehicle who had been shot at least once.The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man has been identified, though police only described him as a 44-year-old Black male.SDPD says it appeared the victim was in the area with an acquaintance when another vehicle pulled up near the victim and fired several rounds. The suspect then fled the area.Police described the suspect as an unknown race male, wearing all dark clothing. According to the district in the report, the 2018-19 budget had a ,220,001 deficit.The report stated that the district's salary and benefits costs "continue to increase year after year at a rate greater than revenue growth."The college district "has a high probability of fiscal insolvency in the near future" at its current pace, the report warned. The report adds that in two years the district "will have consumed all reserves and will be forced to borrow .5 million from an external source to remain solvent."The district said placing Blake on leave was not as a disciplinary action but "as a precautionary measure to protect all parties." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police said Tuesday they have arrested a student for threatening to "shoot up" Westview High School.The threat was reported by school staff Tuesday, wherein a student reportedly told other students not to come to school Wednesday "because the student was going to shoot up the school," according to a press release from school officials.Officials said several students reported the threats to Westview High officials.
