Democrats concluded the second day of opening arguments in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump on Thursday.Thursday marked the second of three eight-hour sessions in which House impeachment managers will explain why they feel President Donald Trump should be removed from office.On Wednesday, lead impeachment manager Adam Schiff walked Senators step-by-step through Trump's dealings with Ukraine, in which Trump withheld foreign aid for weeks in the hopes that it would encourage new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation into one of his political rivals."(The president) does not, under our laws and under our constitution, have a right to use the powers of his office to corruptly solicit foreign aid, prohibited foreign aid, to help his re-election," Schiff said during his remarks Thursday.Watch Thursday's session below:Democrats claim Trump abused the power of his office by withholding military aid to Ukraine — a U.S. ally and a key part of the U.S.'s defense against Russia — in exchange for opening an investigation that would be politically advantageous to Trump.Trump pushed Zelensky to announce that publicly that Ukraine was opening an investigation into Hunter Biden — the son of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden — and his role as a board member for the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma. While he was vice president, Joe Biden pushed for the firing of Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma. Obama administration officials maintain Shokin's firing was consistent with the U.S.'s strategy of rooting out corruption in Ukraine. During part of his remarks on Wednesday, Schiff pushed for Republicans to approve witnesses following opening arguments by both sides. "You should want the whole truth to come out. The Raptors showed the mettle of a champion, coming back in the fourth quarter to defeat the Warriors 114-110 to win the NBA Finals 4-2. The Raptors nearly made a fatal error in the final 10 seconds after a turnover, but Stephen Curry's 3-point attempt missed. The Warriors then tried to save the basketball, but did not have a timeout, sealing Toronto's victory. DETROIT — A Michigan mother claims her 15-year-old daughter was booted from a Spirit Airlines flight from Tampa to Detroit without notice.Now, she's taking action and suing the airline.The alleged incident happened in April 2018 when the family was returning from Ft. Lauderdale and had to switch planes in Tampa.Stacy Giordano had a seat with her son in the back of the plane, and her daughter was reportedly assigned to a seat in the front of the aircraft. That's when Giordano's attorney Jerry Thurswell claims Giordano's daughter was suddenly removed from the plane to make room for another passenger due to overbooking.“They didn’t want to hear anything. They just pulled her off the plane," Thurswell said.Thurswell said the teenager attempted to reach her mother by phone, but was unable to do so because of the airline's mandatory "airplane mode" policy on cell phones. Giordano's phone was not receiving messages. The girl was put on another flight back to Detroit hours later. Giordano didn't realize her daughter was gone until mid-flight.“You don’t just separate a child from their mother," Thurswell said.“The safety and security of our Guests is our top priority,” Spirit Airlines said in a statement.Thurswell said the airline refunded Giordano a ticket and offered her extra flight miles.The family is suing for more than ,000 in damages. 1369
