The USPS is honoring military dogs with its newest set of forever stamps.The four new stamp designs each features a different dog breed that represents the most common military dogs — a German shepherd, a labrador retriever, a Belgian malinois and a Dutch shepherd.According to a press release from the USPS, dozen of dog breeds have been used by all branches of the military. Dogs have served and aided soldiers in all American wars dating back to World War I.The dogs were hand-sketched by artists at DKNG studios before being colorized in Adobe Illustrator. NASA said that the NOAA/NASA Suomi NPP satellite detected smoke south of Australia that was carried completely around the world. NASA uses its satellite fleet to detect wildfires, sometimes detecting wildfires in remote areas before officials on the ground. "NASA satellites can show the movement of the smoke across the globe as evidenced above, but other instruments found onboard can give scientists, firefighters, health experts, local government, and others information about what is happening on the ground in real-time," NASA said.Tracking the smoke also allows NASA to detect changes in air quality. Aerosols from wildfire smoke, as well as pollution and volcanic ash, can affect human health. "Aerosols compromise human health when inhaled by people with asthma or other respiratory illnesses," NASA said. "We have to pay close attention to those sale prices specifically," says Erin Chase, who is known as the Dollar Dinner Mom. Chase says to pay attention to the store’s sale cycles. "Start following the sales and the sale cycles, and you will start to notice, hey about every six weeks, chicken breast is on sale at my grocery store,” she says. “And maybe every eight to 10 weeks, ground beef is on sale at my grocery store." Chase recommends buying only meat for or less per pound. When it comes to seafood, it's rarely found in a circular, so ask your grocery store when it goes on sale.
