(KGTV) -- Authorities have identified the suspect who allegedly shot and killed a woman in Bonita on July 4.According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Giovanny Rodriguez, 20, was arrested for the murder of 19-year-old Janessa Delvalle.The shooting happened on July 4 on the 5100 block of Cedarwood Road.Investigators say a fight broke out between several women in the parking lot of an apartment complex prior to the shooting.When deputies arrived, they say several people were seen performing CPR on Delvalle. BUFFALO, N.Y. — A protester who was knocked down by police in Buffalo earlier this month suffered a fractured skull and has been unable to walk, his attorney said Saturday.Kelly V. Zarcone says she was able to have a brief conversation with her client, 75-year-old Martin Gugino, before he said he needed to rest.According to Zarcone, Gugino is appreciative of those concerned about him, but he is still focused on social issues rather than himself.In a statement to CNN last Wednesday Zarcone said Gugino would be moved to a rehabilitation floor of the hospital and is expected to be released within two weeks.In an additional statement Thursday, Zarcone said Gugino is beginning physical therapy."As heartbreaking as it is, his brain is injured and he is well aware of that now," she said. BALTIMORE, Marlyland — A mother living without her teenage son who was shot and killed last year got to meet the girl whose life he saved with his heart.    Xavier Young was an organ donor.Although lost to gun violence, his gift saved more than one life — it saved an entire family."I think he really wanted me to see that he’s OK and his heart is also still going," said Jennifer Young.Young is Xavier's mother. He was 14 years old when he was shot and killed in Laurel, Maryland last year."We buried him a year ago back on (November 6) so this week has been really tough," Young said.But in darkness, there is a little light as Young met the girl who now holds her son's heart."My son would’ve loved to meet her in life and would’ve heard about her all the time so it’s bittersweet to me," said Young.For Gwendolyn Ihm's family, it was an emotional and humbling meeting."As we celebrate Gwendolyn’s heart transplant, we also have to remember that at that same time there’s another family that are remembering another year of not having their loved one with them," said Brian Ihm, whose daughter now has Young's heart.Ihm was diagnosed with leukemia before she was just 2 months old and the radiation wreaked havoc on her heart."Without Xavier’s heart Gwendolyn would not be at school, she would not be running around, she would not be able to participate like all the kids," Ihm said.Young heard her son's heart beating inside of Gwen."It’s not really him. It’s a piece, and that’s amazing too," said Young.The families have spoken but never met. "I just feel like they remind me so much of him. It’s like he went back to family is what I want to say," Young told WMAR.Xavier was able to donate seven organs and save five lives after his death last November."Without the help of God, maybe Jennifer (Young) wouldn't have made the decision that she made," said Ihm.The hope is for Gwen to be a normal 13-year-old."We just want her to have a couple of good years of health," Ihm said, "and Xavier’s gift has given us that." 2126

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel says he's not stepping down amid criticism of his department's response to the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.Israel's declaration comes after a Florida state representative called on Gov. (KGTV) -- Raad and Nisreen Stephan have owned Giant Pizza King in Bonita for 22 years.Nisreen Stephan said their store is their livelihood and only source of income."We are here seven days a week," Nisreen Stephan said. Their kids, now grown, also used to help out in the store.They say they are being forced out because of a dispute with their landlord. A drive-thru Starbucks is planned to replace their store, according to the Stephans."It is very stressful. Imagine that you are here for 22 years... and all of a sudden, they want to kick you out of your place," Raad Stephan said.He said the owners of the Bonnie Brae Center want them out to make room for the new Starbucks. The current Starbucks location is already in the same plaza at the corner of Central and Bonita Road."It is nonsense because Starbucks now, their location is the best in the shopping center," Raad Stephan said.The dispute will now play out in court. In the unlawful detainer lawsuit filed by Alcott Estates, L.P., it states that the lease expired in June 2016. Raad Stephan said he signed a lease that gave him the option of a five-year extension and the shopping center owners are not honoring that. There is no set court date to the lawsuit, but some of the loyal customers have told the owners that when there is, they will show up to the hearing.In the meantime, the couple is doing what they can to stay positive, thankful for their customers who have supported them throughout the years."We are a part of a family, a big family in Bonita. A family that likes to eat pizza, good pizza!"
