Through email, the supposed owner said his name was Matthew Sherman, a sergeant stationed at Naval Station Rota in Spain. He said he was looking for a long-term renter and sent Maci a link with photos and an Airbnb site that looked legitimate."Along with the presence of the military, presence of the Airbnb website, I felt safe in the process,” Maci said.She exchanged emails and text messages to get more information about the apartment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- All 289 playgrounds in the city of San Diego will reopen to the public on Saturday, Mayor Kevin Faulconer said Friday.Earlier this week, California health officials issued guidelines that allowed for the safe reopening of outdoor playgrounds in parks, campgrounds and other publicly accessible locations.The county reopened 100 of its playgrounds on Wednesday; the city of Carlsbad reopened its parks on Friday.In a statement, Faulconer said, “We already encourage families and children to recreate outdoors at beaches and parks while taking safety precautions, so there’s no reason why we can’t reopen playgrounds the same safe and responsible way. Along with other local leaders, we urged the Governor to deliver the proper guidance to make this a reality for our parents and children, and now that we can reopen we’ll do it responsibly with safety front and center.”Under the state’s guidelines, playground visitors must abide by these requirements:1. Face masks over the mouth and nose are required for everyone 2 years of age or older with caregiver supervision at all times to ensure face mask use.2. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A shipment from Mexico containing over 200 non-FDA approved COVID-19 test kits was seized at San Diego International Airport, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials announced Wednesday.CBP officials said the shipment of two packages arrived at the airport on Dec. 1 from a flight out of Mexico. In a news release, officials said the shipment was manifested as “plastic card” and then taken for inspection.Officers found 251 COVID-19 test kits inside the packages, and they were then evaluated by FDA officials.An inspection by the FDA found the kits were misbranded, and the shipment “did not have an FDA Emergency Use Authorization and violated the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.”The kits, with a domestic value of ,000, were seized by CBP officers, with Homeland Security notified of the shipment.CBP San Diego Director of Field Operations Anne Maricich said, “I am proud of how vigilant our officers are when it comes to protecting our communities, they stopped the entry of unauthorized, unproven and potentially unsafe goods into the United States.
