NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) have arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of killing a nurse on a local highway as she drove to work earlier this month.Caitlyn Kaufman, 26, was shot and killed on Interstate 440 on Dec. 3 as she drove to her job at St. Thomas West Hospital. Her death shocked the city of Nashville and garnered national attention.On Friday morning, MNPD Chief John Drake announced that SWAT members took 21-year-old Devaunte L. Nasim Aghdam, the woman accused of shooting and injuring multiple people at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno before turning the gun on herself, drove up from San Diego, according to KRON.Authorities said they believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. KRON reports that the woman shot her boyfriend and that the others injured were caught in the crossfire. Officials in San Bruno said Tuesday afternoon that three people were wounded and the suspect died of a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.Police were called to the headquarters just before 1 p.m. and were on scene within two minutes.After arriving on scene, officers found a wounded victim outside the building before encountering a second person, who was likely a suspect, shot from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Officers later found two others wounded in a nearby business, officials said. Helicopter video shows hundreds of people running out of the building with their hands up after shots reportedly rang out.A witness reported hearing as many as 20 shots, according to KRON. NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Postmaster General Louis DeJoy told senators Friday that the cost-cutting fixes he has made to the U.S. Postal Service transportation system were designed to improve service."The only change I made, ma'am, was the trucks leave on time," said Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on Friday.But an investigation by Scripps station WTVF in Nashville found that, at the same time that DeJoy was testifying, the Postal Service was paying for an empty truck to drive from Nashville to Illinois.It turns out that DeJoy's changes have led to empty postal trucks being run all over the country.Testifying before a U.S. Senate committee Friday, DeJoy defended his cost-cutting measures, specifically highlighting cuts that targeted transportation issues within the Postal Service.Those cuts require postal trucks to leave sorting facilities by a specific time each day and are intended to reduce expenses related to overtime and extra trips.But postal workers in Nashville say DeJoy's new mandate is not practical and is having unintended consequences."Trucks leave empty," said Joe Jolley, a postal employee with the postal workers union in Nashville. "They leave completely empty. We pay a truck to travel to Memphis, a 53-foot truck with no mail on it."Piles of mail that, postal workers say, missed their intended transportsJolley said DeJoy's new policy does not allow a truck to be held up for even five minutes so it can be loaded with mail. Just this demonstration of how incredibly fast they can move has been great. How effective they can be, I think will depend on a particular disease,” said Shane Crotty, Ph.D. with the La Jolla Institute for Immunology.Crotty says the narrowest application for this vaccine technology in the future is a similar situation where there's a new emerging virus."The mRNA vaccine has been tried for other infectious diseases and they have been investigated for cancer. There's a whole area of trying to vaccine against cancer, which has kind of been an elusive target,” said Dr. Alessandro Sette with the La Jolla Institute for Immunology.A big question with an mRNA vaccine is how long its protection will last. Multiple cell phones, scopes, two rifles and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition were found by police during a search of Travis Reinking's Antioch apartment. In an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, detectives searched Reinking's Discovery at Mountain View apartment and took a number of items. The two rifles were a CZ 452-2EZKM .22 caliber and a Remington 30-06.Police found hundreds of .22 caliber rifle bullets, 87 30-06 bullets, 30 .223 bullets, 29 .45 bullets and 43 .22 caliber bullets.They also found four cell phones, two scopes, a notebook, a safe and several computers. The affidavit describes Reinking's apartment as a one-bedroom apartment. Police said he has been living there for three months. Inside of Reinking's truck that was left at the Waffle House, police found two checks made out to "Travis J. Rankins [sic]." Also, police found an iPod and a Buck Knife with a black sheath.Assorted documents and papers were found in both the apartment and the truck, though what information they contain was not specified.
