CHENGDU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Survivors on Sunday mourned victims of the 8.0-magnitude Wenchuan quake that struck southwest China's Sichuan Province five years ago, while they are struggling to embrace a new life.

Rainstorms have affected about 196,800 people in east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said Saturday.

China firmly supported technical cooperation activities during this period and had been rigorously fulfilling its commitments by timely and fully paying its share to the cooperation fund since joining the agency, Huang said.

Chang hailed the consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his U.S. counterpart, Barack Obama, at the June summit in California on seeking to build a new type of major country relationship based on mutual respect and cooperation as a "strategic choice" aimed at avoiding a repetition of the history of confrontation between an established power and a rising one.
