That would help "a significant proportion of our unsheltered population," including thousands of military veterans, they wrote.Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, a Democrat, invited Trump in July to tour the city's streets. ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a U.S. Army special forces sergeant based in Florida has been charged in the deaths of three people and the wounding of three more in an apparently random shooting at an Illinois bowling alley. Winnebago County State's Attorney J. Hanley said Sunday that 37-year-old Duke Webb has been charged with three counts of murder and three counts of first-degree attempted murder in the shooting at Don Carter Lanes, in Rockford, Saturday evening. Police Chief Dan O'Shea said Sunday that the men who died were aged 73, 65, and 69. He didn't provide names. He says two teenagers were wounded and that a 62-year-old man who was shot several times is in critical condition.According to The Associated Press, the 14-year-old boy was shot in the face and airlifted to a hospital in Madison in stable condition. A 16-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder and was treated at a hospital and released. The figure is 45 percent higher than five years ago.Health officials are particularly concerned by the hike because 30 women had stillbirths due to congenital syphilis, the highest number since 1995.STDs can cause serious health problems if untreated. Syphilis can cause permanent loss of hearing, vision and neurological issues. Chlamydia and gonorrhea can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility, ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain."STDs are preventable by consistently using condoms, and many STDs can be cured with antibiotics," said CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith. "Regular testing and treatment are very important for people who are sexually active, even for people who have no symptoms. Most people infected with an STD do not know it."Chlamydia and gonorrhea rates are highest among people under age 30, health officials said. Living in shelters and on the streets has given her a front row seat to the problem.“It's gotten to the point if you hear an ambulance, or police, you automatically put that together with a K2 overdose,” Grady said.The drug is often made to look like marijuana. A mix of chemicals is usually sprayed onto herb or plants, that is then smoked.It can be cheaper and more powerful than marijuana, which is part of its appeal. However, it comes with a high risk.“With marijuana, you can still take a puff and get a smile,” Grady said. “With this K2, you can take a puff and die.” 790
