CHULA VISTA (CNS) - After initially rescheduling concerts -- including a Chula Vista appearance -- while he recovers from surgery, rocker Ozzy Osbourne announced Thursday he has been forced to postpone all of the remaining North American shows on his "No More Tours 2" tour until next year.Osbourne was originally set to perform at the Mattress Firm Amphitheatre on Tuesday, but the show was pushed back until Oct. 18 because he was being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for infections on his right hand. (AP) — Light rain falling Wednesday in some areas of Northern California could aid crews fighting a deadly wildfire while raising the risk of flash floods and complicating efforts to recover the remains of those killed.Heavier rain was expected later in the day in the Paradise burn area, where a monstrous wildfire has killed at least 81 people and destroyed more than 13,000 homes. Farther south, residents of communities charred by a Los Angeles-area fire stacked sandbags as they prepared for possible downpours that threaten to unleash runoff from hillsides left barren by flames.Forecasters say the rain could cause mudslides and rock slides.In Paradise, teams sifted through ash and debris as they searched for bodies about 140 miles (225 kilometers) northwest of San Francisco."The task is arduous," said Rick Crawford with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. "And the possibility exists that some people may never be found."Precipitation could hinder the search by washing away fragmentary remains and turning ash into a thick paste.Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger made a surprise visit to the area, providing encouragement to weary firefighters while helping serve them breakfast."I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all the work that you do," he told firefighters during a brief speech.The 71-year-old actor also slammed President Donald Trump for blaming the wildfire on poor forest management. He told firefighters, "you are tough to not only fight the fires, but you are tough to listen to all this crap."Authorities trying to identify people killed are using rapid DNA testing that provides results in just two hours. The system can analyze DNA from bone fragments or other remains, then match it to genetic material provided by relatives of the missing.The technology depends on people coming forward to give a DNA sample via a cheek swab.But as of Tuesday, nearly two weeks after the start of the inferno, only about 60 people had provided samples to pop-up labs, said Annette Mattern, a spokeswoman for ANDE, a Colorado company that is donating use of the technology."We need hundreds," Mattern said. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- Police in Chula Vista are mourning the loss of one of their K9s. K9 Griffen died Saturday after suffering from an unspecified medical condition.“It is with heavy hearts and a deep sense of loss that the Chula Vista Police Department says goodbye to Chula Vista Police Dog, K-9 Griffen,” the department said Monday.Griffen died surrounded by his handler, his handler’s family and other members of the K9 program.Griffen was a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois who worked to protect his handler, searched for suspects and made frequent appearances at community events. 590

(KGTV) — Friday, 10News accompanied Chula Vista Police as they raided a marijuana dispensary operating illegally in the city.The raid in the 700 block of Third Avenue shut down an illegal shop called "Chula's Fuego Meds." Four people were arrested, including a man who said he was a security guard. Police found two loaded hand guns and about ,000 in cash and products.Back in March, Chula Vista hired a new attorney focused on prosecuting illegal pot shops, expediting raids and cases. The locations and businesses specifically haven't been approved yet."From 2014 really to the present is when we saw a spike in the illegal operations," City Attorney Glen Googins said. "The businesses have been sealed up, literally with welded shut windows, steel plates on doors and windows, magnetically sealed doors that do not open in the event of a power outage or another emergency," Collum said.Until now, the city and police department have been shutting down illegal pot shops with civil abatement warrants. They weren't able to seize the product or charge criminals. Instead the city could slap a ,000 penalty on the business.In March, they hired their first Criminal Prosecutor, and are working on getting funding for a full-time paralegal and an investigator. Together they will be called the Neighborhood Protection Unit. They hope to have those positions funded and filled by the end of this year or early 2020."We are out there, we are investigating you and we will be coming to close you down," Capt. Collum said.Collum said he knows the industry will continue to change and he said the department will adapt with it, "we'll continue to be out there, we will move and change our enforcement methods as the needs of our community dictate and we are going to continue to make sure that our community stays safe no matter what happens in the future for cannabis."Police say they're also learning some illegal dispensaries are operated by cartels and other organized crime networks. 3389

CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - Nearly 5,000 people were without power Saturday evening in Chula Vista, according to SDG&E.The outage began about 7:30 p.m. with around 1,700 customers in the dark. It expanded to about 4,800 by 9:30 p.m., according to SDG&E's website.The power was restored at about 10 p.m. SDG&E did not provide the cause of the outage.This is a developing story. 10News will update when details become available.  445
