WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Monday chose to delay New Zealand’s national elections by four weeks as the country deals with a new coronavirus outbreak in its largest city, Auckland. The election had been scheduled for Sept. 19 but will now be held on Oct. 17. Under New Zealand law, Ardern had the option of delaying the election for up to about two months. Opposition parties had been requesting a delay after the virus outbreak in Auckland last week prompted the government to put the city into a two-week lockdown and halted election campaigning. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Hurricans Warning has been issued on Friday for Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast due to the threat of Hurricane Isaias over the weekend.The Hurricane Warning extends from Boca Raton to the Volusia/Brevard County line in Central Florida.As of 5 p.m. Friday, the storm is packing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, and is moving northwest at 15 mph. The forecast cone has shifted farther west, with the eye of the hurricane very close to the Palm Beach County coastline.According to the National Hurricane Center, hurricane hunters are finding that Isaias is getting better organized and tropical storm conditions and heavy rains are spreading into the central Bahamas.Isaias became a Category 1 hurricane late Thursday night, and is no longer expected to strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane as it approaches the Bahamas on Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center.On the forecast track, the center of Isaias will continue to move near or over the Southeastern Bahamas this afternoon and evening.
